McCain's about to step in it again!
I'm listening to him in Ohio right now, and he's talking about the 2001 Obama quote that's currently misreported on Drudge. He said (paraphrase) When talking about the civil rights movement, Obama said he was disappointed that the government didn't do enough to spread the wealth. The audience really made some angry rumbles there. McCain's gonna be really sorry he connected the civil rights movement and that kind of negativity.

1. I don't know - I see this as just more red meat for his rabid base
sounds very coded to me.

6. Agree, it's all his campaign has at this point.
He is preaching to the choir. He is getting no new votes; no 'undecideds' curious about his views on issues. All that remains is fear! That's what you get, mclame, when you let saurove in the door.

2. Just saw this about that:
"McCain Campaign Pushing False Obama "Redistributive" Quote

In an interview in 2001 -- according to senior McCain adviser Doug Holtz-Eakin -- Obama bemoaned "as a 'tragedy' the Court's refusal to take up 'the issues of redistribution of wealth.'" The only problem? Obama said nothing of the sort."

3. I believe the Obama camp was waiting for him to make this claim in a speech
They released a statement before he spoke. They gave him a chance to revise his speech and he has chosen not to do it.

They forget that Obama has the opportunity to expose him as a liar.

5. Check out this weird comment over at the Dayton Daily News:
(He's speaking in Kettering, a suburb of Dayton. Of course he's waking up Cincinnati with all of that podium-pounding!!!!)

http://www.daytondailynews.com/n/content/oh/story/news/local/2008/10/27/ddn102708mccainweb.html

Casey Garvey, 15, a sophomore at Fairmont High School, came to the rally with her friend Lauren Baker, 16, a 10th-grader at Fairmont High School. The students said they came to the rally because they wanted to hear what McCain had to say about his issues in person.

Garvey said she likes McCain's stance on the military and schools. The students were also impressed with Gov. Sarah Palin.

"Palin knows what most of America is going through with teenagers being pregnant," Garvey said.

:wtf:

Ooooh McCain just dropped the "Democrat leaders" code word!

10. Well McCain did not grow up in ranching country. And when you are spreading bullshit...
You got to watch where you walk. Or wear rubber boots. Just take'em off before you get in the truck.

11. He just implied that Obama wasn't American and that voters should fight.
and he wonders why Rep. Lewis and Colin Powell are concerned.

:grr:
