It's here. The final week. I'm gonna try to savor the last week of this journey.
My 19 yr old daughter, a musician who has been touring the USA for the last year with a van, guitar, microphone, sleeping bag, lots of PBJs, and a short sampler CD said it best to me the other night when I was nagging at her about some end dates, long term plans, confirmed release date for full CD, online-college classes, etc.
She told me something that i forget too often. She said, "Dad, I'm doing this for life, my life. I know all those things are important and I have goals, but I am not chasing something that when I get there I will stand with my hands up in the air and say, 'YAY! I'M HERE!' I'm having fun and taking in everyday along the way. CHILL OUT!"
I'm gonna "Chill the Fuck Out" this week. And enjoy watching Barack Obama complete his journey.
