Why, you ask?
Well, because I live about 3 minutes south (walking) of the North Carolina/South Carolina border.
I live in a nice neighborhood, with a fair amount of wealthy residents. The neighbors one street over on the South Carolina side love having their "Bible studies" together. One of them was gushing to me about Palin at a party the other night, and seemed totally shocked that I was going to vote for "I heard he's a Muslim!" Obama. Their ignorance is unbelievable, as they cling to their Bibles and their guns.
My neighbors to the left are from Massachusetts. They moved down here, and put up their McCain/Palin sign, proudly. My neighbors on the right hate black people, and are voting Republican, as they always have. They moved here from New Jersey.
And me, I am sad my vote won't turn South Carolina blue, but I am so glad all these shits chose to move to South Carolina. They could have just as easily bought a home 3 minutes north (again, walking distance) in Charlotte. There, their votes might have mattered. In North Carolina, their votes could have potentially affected the election.
So while I'm disappointed that my vote won't change South Carolina, I'm so very glad that all these morons moved to a state that's so solidly red, it's not even a factor in the election. There's always a bright side. :D
