Republican threatens Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner-

Updated with more details -

Ohio Democratic Party Chair Chris Redern made this statement, before the arrest occurred:

"Republican Party leaders sank to an outrageous new low today by accusing the Secretary of State of covering up for election fraud, suggesting that she had fabricated the security breach currently under investigation by the Ohio Highway Patrol, and even downplaying the recent threats made against her life. The Ohio Republican Party has lost their sense of basic decency in a storm of wild charges, frivolous lawsuits, scare tactics and deeply personal attacks."

3. Do you see how far these people will go. This is not isolated.
Taken into context of everything that has been going on the Republicans will go to any bloody length to get their way. Thankfully they're failing miserably.

This needs to be made viral.

7. Dana McArtor was charged Friday with intimidation
The State Highway Patrol says Dana McArtor was charged Friday with intimidation in a telephoned threat to the office of Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner.

Brunner spokesman Jeff Ortega says the call last Friday threatened to kill the secretary of state. Her office says it has been inundated with threats during a busy season of voter lawsuits and alleged registration irregularities.

The 51-year-old Columbus man remains jailed. He is to be arraigned Saturday.

CBS Affiliate WBNS reported that the state filed a motion to set a $1 million bond for McArtor and order a psychiatric exam to determine competency.

I posted his name in my post so it will stand out. This man is someone who made threats to KILL Jennifer Brunner.

I read a few posts while there and this one screamed out at me:

POST #1 would bet money that this is just the beginning of it. My chief fear is a copycat assassin who makes an attempt on Obama''''s life, hoping to parallel the assassination of JFK. But I would not be surprised if more GOP loyalists resort to violence. Remember, the GOP is seeing the potential for a reversal of nearly 30 years of them chipping away at our liberties in the pursuit of installing a theocracy. After Obama wins and the Congress becomes fillibuster-proof, there will be a massive reversal of GOP laws like the Patriot Act, money for Christian private schools, restrictions on Abortion, and the like. I''''m sure they regard this as the worst year in the history of the GOP.

POST #2 IN RESPONSE TO #1: You give the Republicans too much credit. Why would Republicans resort to violence? Republicans will simply rebuild their party, find more popular candidates, and adjust to the new political scenary. Both parties have experienced periods where they lost power, regrouped, and then regained power. At no time in the past did these things lead to massive unrest and violence. This is what sets America apart from many other countries. Power between administrations passes back and forth peacefully.

I guess #2 doesn't include JFK, MLK, RFK.... ALL Democrats. Name ONE republican one has been assassinated in recent history?.?.?

11. Well, I think an attempted Assassination should count
Edited on Sat Oct-25-08 08:29 PM by Sidney J Mussburger
:P

Edit to add that I think it had nothing to do with politics unlike other assassinations, but everything to do with a lone batshit crazy person. I would like to hear more about the Pappy Bush theory though, if you don't mind filling me in.

13. A natural result of whipping up the "vote fraud" fiction with the right wing base.
But lies that kill people are nothing new to today's Republican party.
