An exclusive interview: 'If people only knew how frugal we are'

PITTSBURGH - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin insisted in an interview with the Tribune on Thursday that she did not accept $150,000 worth of designer clothes from the Republican Party and "that is not who we are."

"That whole thing is just, bad!" she said. "Oh, if people only knew how frugal we are.

"It's kind of painful to be criticized for something when all the facts are not out there and are not reported," said Palin, saying the clothes are not worth $150,000 and were bought for the Republican National Convention. Still, she has been wearing pricey clothes at campaign events this fall. She said they will be given back, auctioned off or sent to charity. Most of them, she said, haven't even left the belly of her campaign plane.

Thrust into the national spotlight as John McCain's running mate in late August from relative obscurity as governor of Alaska, Palin has found herself under the microscope ever since, accused of being inexperienced, a drag on the ticket and, most recently, the recipient of racks of expensive clothes.

up against those in her own party? She couldn't say no to Neiman-Marcus?

a greedy quest for fame, stardom, and goodies. The Alaska Grifters can go back home now, we're about done with them.

8. All the clothes look in the similar style...she is a liar. She has been wearing her
$150,000 wardrobe since the convention, must have been Cindy's idea as God forbid she had to stand next to a woman with clothes from the Gap or something.

11. Why would she say that all $150,000 worth of clothes were just for the convention?
That would just make her look even more extravagant--and it's clearly a lie.

9. An AK reporter who is on KPOJ every AM said today that her stories
about being frugal are all BS! She spoke about some teenagers who visited Sarah's daughter seeing the closets open and there were 100 designer jeans hanging there. The reporter said "Even IF the kids were exaggerating, that's 98 more jeans than MY daughter has!" It sounds like Palin is a complete fraud!

14. "Oh, if people only knew how frugal we are."
She is so "frugal" that she charged the State of Alaska Per Diem pay while she was at her own home. She charged the State for travel of her children that had nothing to do with State Business.

Gob. Palin is a liar, an ignorant, money grubbing Sociopath & a fraud.

36. So frugal, we pay for our "Lifestyle of the Witch and Shameless" with OTHER PEOPLE'S MONEY.
You want FRUGAL? Here's frugal:

$150,000 on clothes in 6 weeks: Paid for by the RNC.

Weeks worth of luxury-hotel bills and spa treatments? Paid by Alaskan taxpayers.

More thousands of "lodging expenses" for living at home? The same stupid peonspatriotic hardworking Alaskan taxpayers.

And that $500,000 home itself? Uh...that's different.
Todd and some buddies threw that together one weekend....you betcha!
Todd took a day off from Snow-machinin' and drew up all
them architectural blueprints himself...but we lost them, gosh darn it!

It certainly had NOTHING to do with fatcat Construction Moguls
providing free building construction as a kickback for their huge
State Contracts, if that's what you're thinking.

Because -THAT- would never happen in the great Sovereign Nation patriotic State
of Alaska- not with a Real American like us in charge!

(And the fact we can do all this without even BOTHERING to
hide any of it, and STILL have almost a third of US voters
think we're fit to occupy the gosh-darned WHITE HOUSE?

PRICELESS.
