DREs may be nefarious BUT they are faithful -- TN "vote flipped to Obama" story debunked (X-post)
Earlier this week, BradBlog posted a story here on GD-P about a published story that three Tennessee voters had reported that they had witnessed their votes "flipping" from McCain to Obama on their DREs. I have now debunked that story. Please visit this ER thread to learn the details and to comment. Thanks.

2. So this one widely reported story is fake. RNC likes to plant some fakes.
So we're only left with hundreds of flipping incidents from prior elections. Oh well.

It is a very common Republican technique to mix a fake story in to confuse things. Like they did when Dan Rather was covering the true story of Bush's preferential treatment during the draft. They slipped Dan a fake version of a document and then had some of their own operatives expose it as a fake.

Here too, we may have had Republican operatives trying to shake Brad's credibility. HA HA HA He posted a fake and got all excited about it. Can't trust him.

3. I do agree it's a head-fake, trying to muddy the waters.
I am sure that Republicans are getting a bit squirmy about the thousands of reportes from voters across the country (in 2004 and beyond) who reported vote-flipping but always in one direction -- away from the Democratic candidate.

We've alredy seen that in Nashville where an Obama voter (and her poll worker) saw her vote flip from Obama to Cynthia McKinney (five positions below Obama on the touch-screen).

Again, I'm sorry the story turned out to be false, but only because we ALL need to support shit-canning DREs -- they are bad for democracies AND republics.
