Shouldn't the focus be on bringing this dangerous man to justice rather than spreading the news around nationally about the bizarre McCain/Obama angle of this alleged assault?

It turns out the woman is a McCain volunteer, and this sounds exactly like the product of the imagination of a McCain volunteer.

She probably got mugged and roughed up. I feel very sad for her. But she added the "B" and made up the part about the McCain bumpersticker enraging her assailant, perhaps because she associated the mugger with the man she is trying to keep out of the White House.

However, if someone had pressed the back of her head to the ground, then you'd expect horizontal marks from her flinching toward the left, away from the knife. It's very hard to hold a person's head completely still in that position -- especially with just one hand.

This looks TOTALLY set up to me -- BLOGGING that she is looking for an ATM (I mean, who does that, you just look for an ATM, you don't post blog entries about it like you are trying to establish a timeline), then mentioning that she is looking for an ATM on the wrong side of Pittsburgh, which is an obvious and total give-away that the rest of her story is FAKE. She was using the blog to set up a timeline and to attempt to make herself credible ("see? I said on my blog that I was out looking for a specific sort of ATM on the wrong side of town!")
