I have multiple sclerosis, diabetes, and bipolar disorder. The government's doctor told me I can't work. I am on diability INSURANCE ( I paid a premium every paycheck for 35 years for this insurance, so it's not a handout.) I have taken care of myself since I was 17 years old. (I am 54 now.) I exist on less now than I did in the 1980's . I went to college and got 2 degrees on my own dime. I graduated Phi Theta Kappa with a 4.0 average. I am very good at my chosen field (Computer aided design, specifically parametric solid modeling.) I did all the drafting for a spectroscope which helps the world's most powerful Earth-based telescope see back almost to the beginning of time. I can't work now because multiple sclerosis has destroyed my ability to concentrate for long periods of time, essential when doing 3D CAD work. (I had to resign from a great job at Alcoa.) I will probably die 20 years sooner than a normal persomn would. I own a house with a mortgage in California, and yes, I an up to date and don't owe any back fees.
