WTF? First thing out of Mika... Obama suspended his campaign..
He did NOT suspend his campaign.. everyone is still campaigning.. even Obama.. He's just taking Thursday afternoon and Friday to go to Hawaii and be with his Grandmother because she is ill. Man, they are trying to make this the same as McCain's stupid stunt... Nothing put out by the Obama campaign said he is suspending.. they just said he's taking a couple days to go to visit with his ill grandma.. I am soooo tired of NewSpeak.

1. But there must be drama, drama DRAMA!
Part of me just wants to turn it off, but the small snippets of reality keep me tuned in: I have to admit there's something cool about Barack's close relationship with his grandmother, it offers a real glimpse at the guy's humanity, all politics aside.

2. I kinda like watching it..
because Joe's delusion that "McCain can still win this" is pretty funny. The linguistic and logical contortions that he goes through to argue in favor of McCain are very entertaining. And then Chuck Todd usually emerges every morning to show that Obama=264EVs, and they all pretend that McCain can run the table even though he's so incredibly out-financed, out-polled, out-ground-gamed, and just generally outgunned. Hysterical stuff.

He (and other right-wingers) will be even more fun to watch after the election..

6. Yeah, I feel like McCain has become a political side show at this point.
But the media wants to bill him as the main event.

I always say I've been lucky to see a presidential campaign between two talented, well qualified and intelligent candidates going head to head for the nations highest office...But its over, Hillary lost and Obama won. The rest is details... :)

3. Rachel Maddow also made this statement last night
I didn't like when Rachel said it, and I especially don't like it that this is getting repeated.

Hopefully someone within the campaign will set the record straight.

4. I think she was reading the teleprompter on a Breaking News story..
She changed the verbage at the end to say he's taking a couple of days off. I think they tried to make 30mins out of a couple of days off... They brought in 3 different talky heads to say the same thing and try to analyze the impact of this.. which there really isn't any.

7. Exactly. If they drag out Rev. Wright now, it's going to look very mean spirited. nt

12. McCain's campaign has been a lesson of mismanagement
It's not what they do that's the problem, it's how they do it. Palin could have been a decent pick, but they screwed up the V.P. roll out as bad as one could have imagined. As soon as it was leaked out that McCain talked to Palin only for a few minutes before he selected her, the incompetence train had left the station. Also, their public wavering on the Rev. Wright card will make it look like a campaign stunt/distraction when they roll it out.

8. The word doesn't bother me a bit. McCain's suspension was totally different.
Everyone understands what it's like to have a critically ill relative. No one's going to think Obama's pulling a "stunt."

11. What is wrong with people!!!
Only the ignorant haters would not expect Obama to go see his sick grandmother!!! Imagine what they would do if he DIDN'T go see his grandmother. You people have got to stop panicing over every little thing. Geez...these people are desperate and will pull out everything. We do not need to explain, defend, etc...that just give credibility to their evil charges.

13. Mika is way too negative and half-thought dependent to be where she is.
I find her increasingly annoying because she is combative and negative without providing much foundation, if at all. Surprising that her MO is something the higher-ups haven't quashed long ago.

Same question with Joe, but as annoying and disturbing as I find most of his views, he at least offers reasoning for them that are frightening but clarified. That's something.

Mika does too many "mmm"s and "uhh"s that are supposed to represent a relevant opinion. When she chooses to use actual words for her opinions, she is oddly flighty and whatever good arguments she has she ruins with idiotic follow-ups. It's painful to watch.

16. Now I'm regretting the previous post, because the minute I did so,

Eagleburger turned into a blithering idiot (thanks, in large part, to Lawrence O'Donnell, who creamed him).

I wish I'd waited until the end of the whole interview before I weighed in... Eagleburger couldn't offer coherent responses to assertive questions (or bolster his candidate, McCain, very much, if at all). What an awkward discourse. I'd be embarrassed to have quoted him regarding Biden, but that was the one sane thing he said...
.

He taking a few personal days. He's not "suspending" anything.
