Obama Campaign: "We've Got An Unprecedented Election Protection Program In Place."
Edited on Mon Oct-20-08 07:37 PM by berni_mccoy
I was listening to the Obama Campaign Conference Call with the Press on POTUS 08 on my way home this evening. And I was given hope. A great deal of hope.

The Obama Campaign states that they have an historic-level organization in place and it has been in place for months now. It is not merely an army of lawyers, but also of ground troops (both paid and unpaid) who are ensuring that their registration efforts have not been in vain. They have already used this organization for several multi-faceted initiatives, including ensuring people find out if they are registered (I actually used one of these websites someone posted here), ensuring the bogus registrations sent out by the McCain campaign got called out, ensuring that people were ready for early voting and many more initiatives, some of which have been covered, some have not. They have rightly expected GOP interference in voter registration and disenfranchisement and they had a clear heads-up on this ACORN nonsense. The focus of the organization is to ensure people have access to the ballot and ensure there is nothing blocking them from voting. And if they have to, they'll file suit when necessary. They will not let this election be stolen.

As others have posted here before, basically, they were saying: "Chill out, We've got this!" :-)

1. It's the only thing you can do if you
want to win against a gang of filthy thieves.

2. Obama's campaign knows what they are dealing with and what they (and America) are up against.

3. this is great to hear
but I still think that if we hear of wrong doings, it doesn't hurt to e-mail or all the campaign.

So glad that they are on it!

5. Our eyes on things certainly DO help them out. Keep up the good work!
If you see something wrong with the election or fraud being committed by the GOP, don't hesitate to call the Obama campaign.

6. What are they doing about the machines that are switching votes?

Heh--I just realized that this is my 5000th post here on DU. I suppose expressing concern about electronic election theft is a worthy way to spend it.

9. That is all good to hear.
Hopefully they also have some countermeasures in place to combat electronic vote-switching. I guess we'll find out in a few weeks.
