5. once it breaks 300ish... the media wont be able to control themselves.
anything that isn't determined by 1-2 swing states will be spun as a landslide, esp if the popular vote is strong.

8. Depending on how you define "landslide"
I choose to define it as 60% or greater of the total vote (I've heard 55%, but I'm deliberately going over that)
THUS:
538EV available
538x0.6=323 (rounded up from 322.8)

So, call it 323EV for an Electoral College landslide.

9. 300
When Obama wins 300 Electoral Votes It Is a landslide.And be prepared to point out Bush never got that high not even In his so called mandate In 2004.

15. exactly. in our current time... 300+ will be taken as a landslide (except at fox)
once it hits 300, the L-word will be let loose... and everybody above that will seem like gravy.

13. If Obama is able to EQUAL OR EXCEED both Reagan's POPULAR vote margin in 80 & Bush's in 88 ...
he will then almost certainly have gotten more than 50% and have an undeniable mandate. The distraught Repukes will then of course follow the 271 is a mandate for Repukes and infinity not enough for Democrats approach, but I have NO doubt that in such a situation both the POPULAR vote and the ELECTORAL will be a mandate for all but die-hard RW partisans
