Anyone watch ABC World News just now?
It was great.

Opens up with how great of a day it was for Obama, discussing his finances and then the Powell endorsement. The McCain report, though, was mixed, as it talked about the damning words Powell had about McCain and the campaign he's run. Then it went on to talk about how he was asked if he's accepted the idea he may lose.

Ouch. :D

2. Yes.
He talked about how he's lived a great life and he'll happily return to Arizona and the Senate.

3. Doesn't sound like a fighter to me.
He's ready to lose. He knows he's not up to the challenge of being POTUS. Let's give him a landslide loss to the Nations first African-American POTUS!

8. I think he is into image burnishing time now myself. He ought to be careful NOT
to say shit he shouldn't say, if you know what I mean image wise?

Please go home to Sedona or whereverthe hell you are from, John. We'll be so happy to forget you, since we know you'll NEVER run again for president and insult our intelligence and our integrity!

Sayonara, John....

9. "Why is McCain spending $85 million of taxpayer money to run, when he HAS $85 million?!"
That's the question that needs to be asked.

5. The real news of the day: POWELL. The fake news of the day: PALIN.
Powell completely BURIED the Palin SNL story. Oh, it still got play, but as a fluff story only.

6. Saw that. Also heard someone mention that
Obama went back on a promise to accept public campaign funding and that's why he's doing so much better money-wise. That doesn't sound true to me, but I may be ignorant. Weren't there extenuating circumstances -- like McLame had decided not to accept them, then at the last minute changed his "mind"?

10. NO, Obama had said that they would discuss it (accepting public financing)
and decided against it...

The lie is that he made a promise to accept public financing - he never did...

12. While still in the primary..
Obama was asked if we would accept public financing. He said..should he be chosen the candidate he would sit down with the other side and see if they could reach an agreement. As public financing is now, 527's can still spend any amount of money they wish, as can the RNC. I don't know what, if any, other loopholes there are, but I'm sure they exist.

14. It's too bad he had to get nasty.
If he loses (I'm only saying "if" because Barack said not to be cocky.) he won't just lose the election, he'll lose the respect and admiration he had. He thought his war hero status would take him all the way to the finish line and tried to stretch it way beyond it's expiration date!

19. Though I think McCain still believes he can surprise everyone
and win---the "come-from-behind-kid"----I have been detecting an air of acceptance that Obama is probably going to win. He could have answered the question by not "going there," but he answered it by saying he's got a great family, he'll do just fine, etc.
