Fareed Zakaria just Endorsed Barack Obama on CNN on his show, GPS
He gave a 5 minuted discussion on why he has endorsed Barack Obama. It sounded very much like Powell's endorsement. This guy is a real Foreign policy wonk.

McCain represents the best of America's past.
Obama represents the hope of the future.

3. Thanks but geez what took him so long?
This famous foreign affairs correspondent finally decided

to endorse the opponent of the guy who sang a joke about bombing Iran months ago?
to endorse the opponent of the guy who needed Lieberman to correct him about the Sunnis and Shiites?

Gosh what courageous insight !

11. Some people are never satisfied. Those people think that
everyone should time things according to them.

This is the real world. Welcome to it.

21. Yeah. I'm just testy about people expecting fanfare for not being total idiots.
But I should know by now that too much of the political stuff is ego gaming.

22. I wish people like you would just plain STOP IT!
Democrats keep killing the gifts that are handed them - no wonder we have lost the last two elections!

7. curious what his ratings are...
...his show is SO intelligent, digs SO much deeper into every issue that I can't imagine that a great many people watch his show on a pretty Sunday afternoon - it's the wonkiest on TV, and I always feel smarter after watching it.

His newsweek articles hardly light any fires... predictable stuff.
Still good to have him on our side!

18. I love his show
Zakaria actually gives people enough time to answer questions. His interview of Bill Gates a few weeks ago was great and today he interviewed Queen Rania.

28. His interview with Obama was really good.
His interview didn't delve into superficial issues but focused on serious foreign policy questions. Obama demonstrated a great command of foreign policy with an interviewer who has the background to catch any contradictions or mistakes.

McCain was invited to interview on Zakaria's program but the "experienced" candidate declined. IMHO, he was afraid of being exposed as having a more shallow knowledge of foreign policy than Obama (or most public figures for that matter).
