9. It'll be appealed to the super-supreme court
(kidding)

If this has come down from the SCOTUS, then that's that, no more appeals are possible.

8. DU: Voter disinfranchisement is our real BATTLEGROUND!
This is great news, there WILL be attempts to fuck with us on election day, there WILL be lines and broken machines and discounted or stolen ballots.

I'm pretty confident that Obama is all over it, but we need to DU all we can too!

15. Thank goodness more people are aware this time. 2004 was tough.

DU was getting all kinds of reports from the field about voting anomalies and yet, following the Republican plans, each incident seemed "too small to affect the total" and those reports were brushed aside by corporate media and moderate Democrats and Republicans.

Six months later the reports were in and many anomalies were documented. Election manipulation to disenfranchise Democrats was very widespread-- from voter intimidation and misdirection, to purging voter rolls with caging lists to target certain Demographics, to challenging votes at the polls to slow voting down and discourage people who can't wait in line for hours and hours, and tossing out millions of "spoiled" ballots, in addition to the electronic fraud that is harder to trace. But people still do not want to believe how extensive the voter suppression is but luckily there have been challenges to voter purging efforts that have gotten news coverage.

Perhaps those reviewing the ACORN stuff will dare to inform the public about how very few cases of voter registration fraud leading to fake votes cast have been documented in the 7 years the Republicans have been pushing the concept. Building vote counts by having fake people vote is not a popular method of election manipulation. Less than 100 cases in five years. Less than 10 prosecutions.

Fake identity stuff is much harder to pull off than just using a few other methods to reduce the turnout of your opponents through robocalls telling them to vote on a different day, robofliers that send them to the wrong place, purging voter rolls, sending the oldest machines to the Democratic precincts, or too few machines to make the lines longer, etc etc etc. Republicans use low tech methods in addition to the high tech programming of the secret software used to run the electronic machines.

The Republican desire in pushing voter registration fraud watching is to distract attention for the more effective voter suppression efforts they have been engaged in.

www.stealingamericathemovie.com is the site for Stealing America: Vote by Vote, a comprehensive, calm documentary about the various methods Republicans have used in recent elections, and some historical info and great charts about probability of certain outcomes.
