Scary LTTE: Bush is God, pray over homes those opposing him
This kind of thing is really frightening.

She's referring to these great "Bush Must Go" lawn signs, which drive wingnuts into a frenzy of hatred, causing them to destroy the signs...

Pray for those with 'Bush Must Go' signs

To the Editor:

This is in response to the Aug. 22 articles regarding the "Bush Must Go" sign thieveries. I have, on several occasions, wanted to remove these signs from people's yards, as it breaks my heart every time I see one. Being a Christian who firmly believes President Bush is a Godly man, spirit-led, I believe the signs are being removed for spiritual reasons more than for political ones.

It is apparent this message of "physically removing" these signs is being interpreted as being for "political" reasons, rather than for spiritual ones.

Christians who see these signs, please don't act in a rebellious manner. Instead, pray over these homes as you pass by for God to open the minds and hearts of those who dwell inside; that they may gain Godly wisdom and understanding prior to election day. I believe that's what Jesus would have us do.

Note, the destruction is okay because it's for spiritual reasons, not political. Think about the implications of that. Support or opposition to Bush is not political, it's a spiritual matter.

In other words, anything is okay to do as long as it's what God would want, and of course, God is a republican Bush backer...

People like this belong in Taliban-ruled Afghanistan.

2. The continued attempt
to make us think we have no right to support a candidate opposing Bush.

I hope you are going to write an LTTE back? They'll probably be swamped, but worth the effort.

3. Well, at least . . .
She says that folks shouldn't vandalize the signs. I could give a rip whether people are praying outside my house. Just keep your mitts off of stuff that doesn't belong to you.

And news flash for Brenda Rowe: The signs are being removed because you're on the side of the childish people who can't win in the arena of ideas and so they resort to force.

5. lol, excellent point
but remember, Falwell and Robertson believe god is punishing us for being naughty...

So maybe the big punishment isn't 9/11, but having Bush as leader. :-(

6. No real Christian would say that
I am a democrat and a Christian. Christians that follow Jesus and not men, will obey the rules of their govt. leaders and the laws as long as they do not go against God's.

This is not against God. Things like this are used against all true Christians.

Only twice did you see Jesus tear up a place and it was in the temple with the moneychangers. Jesus would not touch these signs and may say something like He said once:

"Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." When they had heard these words, they marveled, and left Him and went their way.

7. Has God repealed the ten commandments?
Do they think it's okay to steal now? (Let's all pray for these misguided souls to be enlightened.)

10. Didn't I read about a spray to use on lawn signs?

I thought that I read that there is something that makes it real sticky and gets the stealers hands a different color.

Anyone heard about it? I just got my lawn sign and I will cry if someone steals it!
