McCain: "the real winner last night was Joe the Plumber"

http://thepage.time.com/2008/10/16/mccain-rallies-pennsylvania/

<snip>

While speaking at a rally in Downingtown, Pennsylvania the Arizonan again brings up the now famous Ohio plumber to tout his economic policies, blast Obama for his "spreading the wealth" remark.

"I thought I did pretty well, but let's have a little straight talk: the real winner last night was Joe the Plumber."

Does he mean Sam the (not licensed, not paying property tax, not earning 250k, voting Republican) "plumber" ?

2. "Joe the Plumber" isn't named Joe and he isn't a plumber.
And he'll only be a winner if Obama wins too.

4. Yeah, until he loses his job for being unlicensed and loses his house for not paying his taxes.
Word to the wise; if you're going to try and scam the system, keep a low profile.

What a tool.

5. LOL!! he deserves everything he gets. He is such an idiot for allowing
McCoot to use him. Good work in exposing Joe Plumber...

6. sorry, he's the loser.
The NBC reporter already said that the glare of the media spotlight was getting harsh now that other stories on him are coming out, and that he doesn't want to embarrass his 13 year old son. Epic fail, McCain.

8. Yeah, I feel bad about the situation. Anytime you are sucked into
a presidential campaign, it gets ugly fast. I hope he decides to withdraw from public view, and I also think the GOP should stop using him in their talking points. That isn't right, especially if he wants his privacy.

11. He would have been fine if he hadn't decided to let the press into his home...
And then hold press conferences in his front yard.

As someone pointed out today, he's held more press conferences than Sarah Palin.

So he invited this on himself. The only thing to feel sorry for him about is that he doesn't seem to be very bright.

7. I wonder when the McCain staff will spin this one to mean "well, he means all hard working Joe's!"
Just like the fundamentals of the economy statement!

10. MSNBC is already on the story, says he seems to not want to hold press conferences
anymore as more things are being discovered about him. Ann Kornblut said we will be finding out more about him as he's being "vetted." David Shuster already said he doesn't (or may not) have a license, described him as a "conservative," and it seems like they WILL be looking into who he REALLY is.
