McCain has made much of his opposition to Bush's early Iraq strategy, and in the third debate he even went so far as to say he wasn't George Bush and that if Obama had wanted to run against GWB, he should have done so. Get real, Johnny Mac. The real question, as I wondered after the second debate, is why didn't McCain challenge Bush then since he is so intent on distancing himself now?

If Bush's 2003 Iraq policy upset McCain so much at the time, why didn't he seek the GOP nomination in 2004?

1. I wonder how the American voters would had perceived Obama 4 years ago
if he had tried to run against Bush?

I doubt many would had thought much with him being only a lowly State Senator. And his ability to fundraise wouldn't had been anywhere near what he has been able to do now.

McCain is HOGWASH to suggest that Obama should had run in 2004 for President against Bush. If Obama was older and had been a US Senator 4 years ago that would had been a different story.

AND if Obama had been able to run 4 years ago and got elected McCain would had been doing worse in his campaign then he is now after 4 years of Obama being President.

5. The weakness in 2004 was directly related to DNC's collapsing of party infrastructure in too many
states, including Florida and Ohio. The RNC and GOP officials had near total control of the election process at every level where the votes are allowed, cast and counted. Many of us believe McAuliffe sat on his hands for the four years after 2000s theft, and did so DELIBERATELY, so NO Dem nominee could get their actual votes counted or have access to the legal evidence neede to challenge the outcome in court.

2. That contradicts McSame saying Obama lacks experience if he thinks Obama should have run in 2004.

3. I wish Obama had replied
"Well John, if you hadn't aligned yourself so closely with George Bush, you wouldn't need to define yourself as not being him. We would know who you are".
