For Those - Like Chuck Todd - Who Doubt Obama's Double-Digit Lead
They are trapped in the past. Their experience in presidential races is based on the received opinion that the country is split 50-50, that modern elections are always nail biters and that going negative is the sure path to victory.

What they fail to do is to LOOK AROUND THEM to see the economic disaster that is befalling many Americans, and the absolute fed-upped-ness the MAJORITY of Americans have with bush and the R Party in general.

The trends are all there. Registered Ds far outnumber Rs in this country. Most Governors are Ds. The Congress is now controlled by Ds. Kerry got more votes than any presidential candidate in history and actually won in 2004 but lost due to real voter fraud (ie: not the fake, ACORN kind of "fraud")in Ohio and elsewhere.

So, when you hear that Obama's lead is only 6 -9 points, don't believe it. He has a double-digit lead that will grow even more as we near the election. In fact, turnout will be extremely high because Americans are fed up with Rs and want to have their voices heard. They may not have jobs, they may be about to lose their homes, but, dammit, they can still stick it to the man by pulling the lever for Obama and every down-ticket D on their respective ballots.

2. Chuck Todd really has no credibility.
He should dump the goatee, it looks silly on him. (Of course, we don't know what's under it...)

He should also realize that staying on the right road is not going to get him where he wants to go. It never has, and it never will. At the fork in the road, the left road is the way to prosperity, progress, and freedom. All the right road gets you is death, destruction, and fear.

10. You might have to...
a 14-15 point lead could easily turn to 7-8, after "processing" at the state level.

11. We're not gonna get a 14-15 point gap in the popular vote.
Even with every vote counted properly I wouldn't count on more than 9. 10 at best.

But that's a landslide. I can work with it. Hell, I can live with any victory as long as our guy's President--as long as it's honest.

12. You may be right. I don't know.
But I'm sensing a reverse-Bradley effect, or "Obama" effect. The guy is a once-in-a-lifetime candidate, and John McCain can't even come close. Obama's 17 point lead among women tells me that many supposedly Republican women will vote for Obama, possibly never to admit it. My point is that Obama needs that kind of margin to offset the various vote-suppression methods we KNOW we're going to see.

7. I agree.
Every indicator shows that this presidential election isn't going to be as close as the last two. This country has been trending blue since perhaps 2005. I do however understand the need for many to be cautious and guarded, after what we've all been through the last 8 years. We all feel victimized by the Bush administration, and we've seen them beat up on Democrats time and time again. But I really do believe the tide turned around 2005-06, and the tsunami just keeps getting bigger. The wave crashes on shore November 4th.

8. I'm loving the new meme, that McCain should ask voters...
"do you really want a Democratic majority in congress and a Democrat in the White House?"

HELL YES. DOUBLE HELL YES.

This just cracks me up. We got INTO this mess because Republicans owned congress and the White House and sent this country into a tailspin, and now Dems have to clean up their cesspool AGAIN. HELL YES, people aren't stupid, they know EXACTLY what they're voting for, and they've known it for 3 years. It's WHAT THEY WANT. Since before 2006, pundits have said over and over that the Dems will rule the next election cycle - now people are suddenly too stupid to realize it? Gah! Sometimes the spin just makes me puke.
