Palin: "I don't mess with black men"
This needs to get out now. I think we all owe Counterpunch a big thanks for this.

5. Not exactly a reliable story.
It's an 18 year old story that ignores that Palin was already married by 1990. Her son is 19 or 20 years old, right? And this guy is just guessing, two decades later, what she might have been thinking, but he can give an exact quote from her?

It smells funny to me. It sure as hell ain't newsworthy.

8. Eh.. another "he said" story...
Probably very true... but this one isn't going to have legs. We need VIDEO of her saying this crap. A "black guy" who's obviously already in the tank for Obama saying this isn't going to turn any heads.. only libs will believe it.. repubs will deny it and say it's more race baiting.. and the few in the middle will just ignore it.

I personally like the whole "who built the Palin's house for free" story myself.. that one has potential to be provable.

Nice find though!

9. Why am I so not surprised?

And I work with a guy that thinks she's the best thing to hit Washington, ever. :eyes:

I offered a wager on the election. I even gave him 20 EV's AND a 5% popular vote margin, on a measly $5.00 bet. He wouldn't take it.

19. Muthee's a caricature.
He's the "magic negro" stereotype people were talking about many months ago.

she's a fruitcake from a tiny rural town in the arctic.

we all understand this.

WE ARE TRYING NOT TO FALL INTO THE TRAP OF MAKING THIS ELECTION ABOUT RACE. This he-said-she-said jerry springer stuff from 18 years ago is not helpful.

16. Why?
While they don't always agree with this party, they do speak truth to power, especially corporate power.

23. I disagree
They're very good at selling outrage to the disenchanted, but they exaggerate so frequently that it undermines their credibility. This story is a case in point - an interesting anecdote, but when you get down to it it's 18 year old hearsay, the meaning of which is open to interpretation. I'm not disputing the guy's story, I'm sure he's just telling it like it is...but it's not really significant, either.

17. Who cares? She's married. She shouldn't be messing with anybody
but her husband. One should not be expected to prove they aren't racists by "messing" with someone of a different race.

22. Beyond this story, there is always her ties to AIP and the secessionist movement.
Edited on Tue Oct-14-08 05:13 PM by political_Dem
Furthermore, there are the stories of her refusal to put any people of color in government positions as governor.

And then, there is the proof of her "lack of action" while people shouted, "Kill him" during her stump speeches.

Yeah, she's racist. And no, we can't ignore these stories because they add to the depth of knowledge about why she acts the way she does.
