On El Rushbo's program today, Gov. Sarah Palin was a surprise guest -- her traveling press corps was given about a moment's notice. She apparently had an ACORN talking point she wanted to get across, too.

Here's an interesting excerpt:


Rush Limbaugh: "The media is covering up for him. That is why there's so much admirationfor you. The New York Times said you were a great speaker....your forcefulness and your opinions are driving away moderates. This is just an attempt to get you to stop."

Sarah Palin: "Well, yes, I guess that message is they do want me to sit down and shut up, but that's not gonna happen. I care too much about this great country. ... Speaking of some of those associations...lets talk quickly about ACORN and the unconscionable situation that we are facing right now with voter fraud, given the ties between Obama and ACORN and the money his campaign has sent them...Obama has a responsibility to reign in ACORN and prove that he is willing to fight voter fraud....for shame if the mainstream media were to cover this one up."

ACORN, tired of being maligned by the right, has reminded us that in 2006 at a rally they co-sponsored in support of comprehensive immigration reform, their keynote speaker was Senator John McCain (R-AZ). This should put a serious dent in the argument that ACORN is farleft, partisan, and out to "do harm," i.e. steal the election for Barack Obama.

"The immigration event, which other photos show was packed with red-shirted Acorn member, was co-sponsored by the local Catholic Archdiocese, the SEIU, and other groups.

McCain, still spiting much of his party on immigration at the time, was the headliner.

Bertha Lewis, Acorn's chief organizer, said in a statement that came with the photo, “It has deeply saddened us to see Senator McCain abandon his historic support for ACORN and our efforts to support the goals of low-income Americans."

”We are sure that the extremists he is trying to get into a froth will be even more excited to learn that John McCain stood shoulder to shoulder with ACORN, at an ACORN co-sponsored event, to promote immigration reform," she said."

Rush was talking about Palin WAY before she was a household name.

I don't know what interested him about her, but she was definitely on his mind.

I think he's actually getting what he wanted - a polarizing figure, devoid of any substance that could make news - a female version of himself.
