Letterman's in top form again tonight....
Associating McCain with Custer.... then had the funniest video about McCain saying he slept naked with Lieberman. I'm on a tape delay eagerly awaiting the Top Ten concerning Troopergate and Palin.

1. This upcoming McCain appearance might be more highly anticipated than the debate

2. I just cannot imagine anything that McSame could do that would be enough
Edited on Mon Oct-13-08 11:34 PM by BrklynLiberal
to make up for what he did to Letterman, and to counteract all the negative stuff that Letterman has said since then.

4. Which is worse for McCain?
Sucking up to Letterman, or going ape-shit on him?

If he wants to stick with the "Liberal Media is against me" mem.. he sorta has to go ape-shit... but I think McCain is to chicken to do it to Letterman's face.

If he DOES - it would be an amazing unraveling.... but I really think that what he does is going to be determined by what kind of reviews he gets out of the debate on Wed.

6. he'll say that couric was so cute that he couldn't turn her down
it'll be sexist but he'll compare letterman's face to couric's and everybody will laugh and nod. letterman will get his ratings spike and mccain will act like he prevailed.

mark my words and keep a barf bag handy.

5. McCain on Letterman
The time for super fractured steroid fueled meltdown is drawing near. This could be it or perhaps at the debate, but sooner or later he will blow like Old Faithful, and it won't be pretty. Picture this at the debate, he gets redder and redder, then lunges toward Obama with his hands out, but falls flat on his face instead. He lays there beating the floor with his fists, feet kicking, while he screams I will not talk, you can't make me. Then they say what if we give you a cookie, and he says why that would be fine, who do I have to rat out.

7. I predict Letterman will NOT let McCain off the hook...
McCain thinks he will put in an appearance and all will be peaches and cream again.

Letterman is still plenty steamed, as this was an obvious attempt to 'blow off' Dave for a more important interview with Katie Couric.

I predict McCain will resort to recycling the "I was a POW" story before the interview is over.

10. I'm a little worried that Dave will be a gentleman...
... he's ascerbic but he also can be quite nice to people face to face.

Not that McCain's sorry attempt at appeasement will make any difference to the election... I would just enjoy seeing McCain suffer at the hands of someone who won't let him get away with his "my friends" schtick.

9. Why would McCain schedule it after the debate??
For all we know, it could be a complete absolute failure. Why risk the chance of going on a show like letterman the night after you could have possibly ruined all chances of winning.
