CNN top page: Palin denies state report she abused power
(Nice video)
Palin denies state report she abused power
Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin denied today that she had abused her power as Alaska's governor, a conclusion reached by a state investigator in a report released the day before.
http://www.cnn.com/

The investigator's report states Palin's efforts to get Wooten fired broke a state ethics law that bars public officials from pursuing personal interest through official action

5. love that the media is FINALLY showing real pics of her. notice the change???
Before they used the fluff pics with the Hi-def makeup, etc. Since this report came out, I notice the pics are more gritty. She looks like an angry woman in her late 40s. Amazing how the media does that... now that she's been tagged.

And.. yes.. of course that witch is gonna try to spin it her way. But facts are facts. I want to know WHY they did not bring her up on charges for allowing TODD to run the State!!!!

6. It's not just the report, it's the fact she's LYING about it!
That's that they say about Ayers.

Why is Sarah Palin lying about the report?

If she as a good Christian, she would apologize and ask for forgiveness.

8. I don't know if anybody pointed this out yet
Edited on Sat Oct-11-08 10:37 AM by butlerd
But does anybody in the corporate media (or elsewhere) realize that this report,as damning as it is (or should be) is really only PART of the overall problem here.

Is anybody pointing out the fact that Palin, who initially pledged to cooperate with the investigation, REFUSED to cooperate further once she was selected as McCain's VP?

Is anybody pointing out the army of lawyers the McCain campaign sent to Alaska to help OBSTRUCT the investigation by encouraging several witnesses to refuse to testify?

Is anybody pointing out that Palin and other witnesses IGNORED the subpoenas issued by the committee?

Is anybody asking McCain/Palin to provide some EVIDENCE that the investigation is "partisan" (despite the Republicans involved) and was instigated by the Obama campaign (despite the obvious fact, of course, that this investigation AFAIK was begun PRIOR to Palin's selection as VP)?

In other words:

HAS ANYBODY POINTED OUT THAT THE REPORT IS INCOMPLETE AS IT IS????!!!!!!!

:grr:

10. I dont see how GOP can accept this position. I really do not. Here's why...
Edited on Sat Oct-11-08 10:42 AM by Essene
This committee was Republican.

Her own ethics adviser (republican) told her to apologize months ago.

She dragged Mccain and the RNC into defending her, meddling in Alaska's business (again, a Republican committee).

The report flat out said she violated State ethics law.

She is now going to get sued by a popular Alaskan Republican, and her sister's custody battle is probably going to explode again after these findings (and since that judge told her 2 years ago to stop bad mouthing this trooper in public). This is Jerry Springer stuff.

After the last month, i just don't see how the GOP can support her and circle the wagons on this one. Their base is pissed off about the bail out and mortgage stuff. Others are pissed off about the nastiness and idea-free Mccain campaign. Many more yet are upset about picking Palin.

I don't see how this can keep going... and thrashing at Obama... they will only keep it up for so long.

11. Precocious thing, isn't she? Before reaching national prominence, she's already amassed a corrupt
resume even Tom Delay would be proud of.

sigh~

"She's already one of us!"

It takes Ted Stevens decades to stink up the new this bad.
