OK, what happens to Joe Lieberman after the election?
The Dems should, of course shun him (at minimum) and expel him from the caucus, give his committee assignments to actual DEMOCRATS. Does he jump parties? Will the Pukes take him?

What do you think?

2. He'll be out of the Democratic caucus, that's for sure ...
Don't know about changing parties. He's already an "Independent
Democrat" -- maybe he'll just change that to "Independent" until
his term is up (and then switch to the Dark Side).

3. I suggest the party leadership have him stuffed and mounted
in the Great Hall of the Capitol. You know--as a warning to others.

4. He gets stripped of his committee assignments and becomes persona non grata
And in 2012 he becomes retired by the citizens of CT.

10. People are already lining up...
on both sides of the aisle to run for his seat. Joe's toast.

I still support Ned Lamont.

6. He might jump parties
And make a number of self-righteous speeches about what the Democratic party does wrong (that is, not adoring him).

But either way, he'll be totally inconsequential. He's only important to either side as the deciding vote.

Once we've got a solid majority, the GOP doesn't give a hoot about him, and neither should we.

He's a lame schmuck.

7. The usual DLCers will flood this board and make excuses for why the DEMS have to be nice to him?
Am I close?

That and all that flows from it is my humble prediction.

8. I guess it depends on whether we need his Senate vote (ie if he's the 60th vote). nt

16. That wouldn't be an issue...
Conn is a fairly librel state and he would have to vote with the dem's more often than not if he wanted to get re-elected...

To organize the Senate, they don't need him...

9. 2 suggestions for what we should do.
1. Long Walk.

2. Short pier.

As for the rethuglicans, I am reminded of Benedict Arnold. The Britisn made him a general, but they never really trusted him, did they?

12. Dems will have at least 57 seats and they kick Lieberman out of caucus and he officially
"though with reluctance" becomes a republican.

does he know how many people are angry with him or does he exist in some isolated world where he's not aware of the anger he provokes in so many people?
