Wonkette: Details On Today’s Latest McCain/Palin KKK Rally

The McCain campaign’s angry tone this week has produced frightening anecdotes from every McCain/Palin rally about murdering the treasonous terrorist Barack Obama. Wingnuts are seeing Obama solidify his leads and are genuinely frightened that this Muslim might actually do it! And what does that make them do? Be even “wingnuttier,” of course, and that means that the mob rallies are getting more primitive and violent by the day. Today’s rally — “the angriest McPalin rally ever” — was in Wisconsin, a “swing state” where Obama is leading by 10 points. MORE »

1. Carefully document and investigate. But let's not fall into the trap... of race baiting.
If we allow this election to get turned into a reactionary vs reactionary racialized finger pointing match, it's going to hurt OBAMA. Let's all get crystal clear on this.

A) Obama's side says "racism"
B) GOP and MSM says "playing the race card!"

It's important to document and investigate the inciting hate stuff... and the explicitly violent rhetoric needs to get reported to the Secret Service. But do not be confused.

The GOP are going into race because they want to poison the discourse, derail the focus on the economy and stir up nasty stuff ON BOTH SIDES. Let's be VERY clear on this, for god's sake.

4. I very much agree with you....and I suggest that folks
stop going into a panic. That is not helpful.

Anytime race is the subject, it is not helpful in electing Barack.

I hope folks get a fucking clue.

5. I have a different take.
Every one of these racist troglodyte McPalin supporters is actually helping Obama win. The great majority of Americans find overt expressions of racism repulsive. The fact that these outbursts are happening at McPalin rallies is no coincidence: they're clearly being incited. To the extent that people are aware it's happening, they get HY it's happening, an they're mostly apalled. I think that's part of the reason we're seeing Obama's numbers moving--McCain looks more like the ghost of George Wallace and less like a war hero every day. Obama's playing it just right: staying gracious and up-beat--offering the handshake--while his campaign makes sure the netroots and progressive media are on the story.

6. So you are suggesting that when the GOP
McPalin "plays the race card" Dems should just STFU?

I get your thought process, but I guess I don't understand your point.

Or maybe I'm just tired. Probably that.

3. Since McSame and the barracuda, and their KKK followers all detest the media so much, why
doesn't the media start to ignore them and stop giving them space and time?
I think that much of this inciting and insanity is for the benefit of the press...and if the press is not there to record it, it may not be as meaningful. It kind of feeds off itself. If the other slack-jawed, mouth-breathing dimwits cannot read about it, or see it on TV, maybe they will not be so inspired to behave the same way.
