CHICKEN GEORGE won't Debate - Bush* seeks to cut Arizona Debate!
http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/news/articles/0903gop-notebook03.html

Bush's camp may cut 1 debate

....GOP strategist Scott Reed was quoted by the Reuter news agency this week as saying the Bush camp's position is that "two debates are sufficient and will not dominate the entire fall schedule."

"Three debates would have a tendency to be a little overbearing on your campaign strategy and tactics," Reed was quoted as saying......

______

Translation: Bush doesn't have the BRAINPOWER or the COURAGE for three debates with the NEXT PRESIDENT of the United States John Kerry.

1. I said this before and I'll say it again
Kerry should say he'll allow cheney to attend the third debate and hold *'s hand if it will help get the third debate.

3. I think the three debates have different formats... I'd bet the AZ one
had a very unfavorable format for Bush* and that is probably the REAL issue he wants out of it. Anyone know?

5. From an earlier article
"Tempe's debate at Arizona State University's Gammage Auditorium will concentrate on foreign policy, a defining issue with the war against terrorism dominating the campaign. The other debates will be Sept. 30 in Coral Gables, Fla., at the University of Miami, and Oct. 8 in St. Louis, at Washington University. The vice presidential debate will be held Oct. 5 in Cleveland. The nonpartisan Commission on Presidential Debates chose the sites from 14 proposals submitted in March."

6. Good idea
Kerry can invite Dick Cheney to come hold his hand if * tires to get out of it.

It's wrong to deny the American people this.

and willing wearers to follow that little creep about and go "bak, bak, bak" at every stop. How much would a bunch of chicken costumes cost?

8. I would LOVE for Kerry or Edwards to use the "Cheney being at debate" idea
Edited on Fri Sep-03-04 12:49 PM by jackstraw45
and compare it to when George needed Dick to hold his hand and testify together for the 9/11 commission.

Oh, that would be GREAT!

"George, if it makes you feel better, we can have a stool next to your podium and Dick Cheney can sit next to you, just like he with the 9/11 commission."

I dont' think we should let him...wouldn't that make eveyrone ask WHY aren't you doing the debate schedule that was agreed to??? we can't let it at least be IN THE NEWS for a while...try to push for it...look eager to discuss issues..and then say "oh alright dude if you really can't do three..."

23. Kerry camp needs to make it CLEAR that Bush is ducking debates
I love how the GOP candidates ALWAYS are afraid to debate. Why?

Because they have to talk about the issues and they are always on the WRONG side of actual issues that matter to most Americans.

Simple as that.

21. Kerry CANNOT agree to this. He must fight for all 3 debates.
Tell Baker and Bush* to stick it where the sun don't shine. Let ALL Democratic surrogates go after Bush* on this: Chicken, lazy, afraid, disrespectful, not prepared to lead.

Make them crater and flip-flop. Kerry cannot give them an inch!

Your bosses...the people who pay for your salary, travel expenses, security, food, and shelter.

The Kerry camp should SLAM this Chimp for this...he IS Chickenhawk George.

29. If Bush refuses to do that debate, Kerry should . . .
. . . hold a press conference and say the following: "The Presidential debates have long been a cornerstone of the Presidential campaigns in America. Their purpose is to educate the voters on what each candidate believes, where he stands. I believe that a better-informed electorate creates a better election and a better country, even if others don't. That is why, on October 13th, I will be appearing in Tempe, Arizona to address the country. Mr. Bush can show up or not, as he chooses."

Lay down the gauntlet.

35. I can see this being a direct response to the Time poll.
Staying out of a debate longer might help him keep his polling high if people don't see him straining against Kerry.

Kerry's people need to keep on him about this, otherwise he could coast through without a single debate.

Chicken Dumbya is just like his father, the original Chickengeorge back in 1992. Clinton's campaign had the guy in the chicken suit. I hope the Kerry campaign can get it on loan.

37. People on this board said Kerry should do the same thing
This is something. Last week, some here were saying Kerry should refuse to debate Bush at all.

Anyway, Bush sucks. The only way he can win a debate is by having his (superior) spinmasters put the fix in after its over.
