I do not think McCain can stand being in the Senate while Obama is running the country. I think he will retire and go live in one of his 13 houses with his trophy wife.

2. He will finish his mandate and that's it.
2010 I think his seat is up and I expect Janet Napolitano (D) to go for it.

5. Agreed. He's done. Didn't get the "grand prize" America will be thankful for that
he'll retire to one of his many mansions.

15. 2010
McCain was first elected to the Senate in 1986, re-elected in 1992, 1998 and 2004. No state re-elects both US Senators in the same year.

14. I hope not!
AZ needs Janet to stop the troglodytes in the State House and Senate from enacting their far-right agenda. She's done so well with providing help to the poor, improving education, etc.

20. The Governor of Arizona is limited to two terms.
Since she is in her second term, she can't run for reelection in 2010. I would rather see her stay in the State House too, but alas, all good things come to an end. Hopefully another good progressive is waiting in the wings to replace her.

I hope she makes a move for that Senate seat so she remains a public servant in some capacity.

3. Some are betting that Cindy will dump John after he
loses the election. If the shoe were on the other foot, he would dump her in a New York minute.

4. The only reason I disagree is because AZ has a Democratic governor
and if she gets to pick, I doubt she'll go with a republikkan, unless the law is similar to Wyoming's.

9. The freeps may hate him NOW, but they'll hate him even MORE when President Obama takes office.
The reality is that they don't want to "forgive" him for his involvement in immigration reform (they constantly piss and moan about his "shamnesty" program and involvement with Ted Kennedy and call him "Juan McCain).

But they're willing to pretend that they love him if it means an Obama defeat.

Looks like pretend time is about to come to an abrupt end, in a little less than a month from today.

18. McCain looks like Death warmed over by now. He'll try to hang on to his Senate seat, but...
... I think serious health issues will intervene. Cindy won't leave him now if she hasn't already.

Win or lose, I think McCain's days are numbered due to melanoma.

Just my take on it.

Hekate
