So, this election is going to center on the Undecideds, right? Who would they lean to, ya think?

No matter the Get Out The Vote efforts, there are substantial numbers of Undecideds out there (although my mind cannot even begin to fathom how someone could even remotely be Undecided at this point but anyway....) who will likely swing the election one way or another.

So, who would they lean to at this point?

Someone who is keeping his cool? Talking about the issues? Connecting with voters re: the economy?

Or someone who tosses out labels of his opponent as a terrorist or a split-personality, esp. when these barbs come from someone who recently claimed he would keep his campaign above the banality of mud-slinging and personal attacks.

Methinks the former.

How about you?

...but I still think the democrats will win!!

We have been getting new voters registered in a massive way!! And even if all of those voters don't vote, there are still many more democrats than republicans so our chances are still good!

Not to mention that about 80% of the country thinks we are moving in the wrong direction. Since McCain votes with Bush 90% of the time and he also seeks to use similar policies, he is now seen as the incumbent.

Why do you think McCain dropped the experience platform and stole the change issue from Obama? Because change is a message that works! But in order to be a real change candidate, you have to have something that you would actually change! If McCain agrees with Bush 90%, that's not much change.

And speaking of voters, do you remember the primaries and the caucuses? In many, many places there were so many democrats who showed up!!! Whereas republicans showed up in much lower numbers. And I recently heard that only about 30% of the public now admits to be republican. If McCain were to win, he would have to win over a LOT more independents!

So if you put all of that together, it adds up to a big win for the democrats!!

2. This Election Will Come Down to Keeping the 'Piggies from Stealing It
We're registering thousands of new voters, they're throwing thousands off the voting rolls.
We're motivated to get out the vote, they're motivated to suppress the vote.

Undecideds were <2% in the latest poll.
