Yesterday is a perfect example, and perhaps her most damaging yet. Palin did an interview with right-wing commentator Bill Kristol. Palin took it upon herself to talk about Rev. Wright:

“To tell you the truth, Bill, I don’t know why that association isn’t discussed more, because those were appalling things that that pastor had said about our great country, and to have sat in the pews for 20 years and listened to that — with, I don’t know, a sense of condoning it, I guess, because he didn’t get up and leave — to me, that does say something about character. But, you know, I guess that would be a John McCain call on whether he wants to bring that up.”

Yeah, you see, Sarah Palin's inner idiot came out again on that one. If Sarah Palin thinks not getting up and leaving when your pastor says something outrageous in church says something about your character, then Sarah Palin just called herself a rabid anti-Semite.

Sarah Palin sat in her conservative evangelical church, twice, and said nothing when her visiting pastors and speakers attacked another great nation and another great people - Jews and Israel.

Just three years ago, Palin sat in church and did nothing - nay, she went up on stage and joined a rather out-there evangelical preacher minutes after he said that the reason we have so much corruption on Wall Street is that it's run by Jews. Yes, she really did. Here is what Sarah Palin's guest preacher said, in her presence, minutes before she joined him in front of the entire congregation:

"The second area whereby God wants us, wants to penetrate in our society is in the economic area. The Bible says that the wealth of the wicked is stored up for the righteous. It's high time that we have top Christian businessmen, businesswomen, bankers, you know, who are men and women of integrity running the economics of our nations. That's what we are waiting for. That's part and parcel of transformation. If you look at the -- you know -- if you look at the Israelites, that's how they work. And that's how they are, even today. When we will see that, you know, that the top transporters (?) in the lands, we see, you know, the bankers, we see the people holding the parts (?), they are believers, we will not have the kind of corruption that we are hearing in our societies."

What does it say about the character of a person who gets up and walks whenever they hear something they don't like or don't agree with? Or who quits any organization because somebody says something they don't like?

I'm a (struggling) Catholic and I did get up and leave when the priest started the sermon which was introduced as the third in their series on the importance of marriage. I left during the middle of mass and I haven't been back to that church since. I'm not gay, but that wasn't the tone I wanted for worship.

It doesn't strike me as quite the same. You'd have known the Catholic Church would take that position on gay marriage. So was it just hearing it out loud, or a combination of things finally deciding that the Catholic Church itself isn't for you?

I haven't heard our priest say anything against it, but if asked, I know what he'd say, yet I still stay in that church. I just don't think I have to agree with all that to stay in the church. Which some would say is absurd, I know, as we are supposed to subscribe to a certain set of beliefs. It is just that it is traditionally my church - I was raised in it. I either help in change from within, or figure it will come into modern times, probably kicking and screaming, but it could take place over time. I just don't see that I have a duty to quit, or that it will make any difference if I do.

You're probably not saying Obama should have done the same over Rev. Wright's, "Damn America" - that's what all these idiot repukes claim they expected him to do. Shows how self centered they are, too. They expect black persons to quit their church should the black minister offend white sensibilities.

That's why once again, the repukes prove themselves to be morans.

14. I actually found a new Catholic Church

Personally, I think the church is wrong on that issue, but I can't stop being a Catholic (I agree with you on that-there are problems with most churches). I should probably call myself a Cafeteria Catholic-I pick and choose what I believe. When I was going through confirmation classes, I was told that being gay wasn't a sin. It was having sex outside of marriage that was a sin. So on a go-to-hell meter I'm on par with the gay folk.

The idea that being anti-gay was more important that actually ministering to the flock of the church (gays, single folks, widowers) for three weeks in a row was more than enough of a reason for me to leave. I felt that I wasn't spiritually fed at the mass and there was no reason for me to stay and listen to their bigotry. The sad thing was that I was really searching at that point, and the need to preach about hate rather than God's love didn't really do anything for me.

I found a new Catholic Church. The sermon over the weekend focused on service (the core of the Catholic Church when the teachings are done right). They praised those who worked in social outreach, the green team, and for the right to life (I am pro-choice but anti-abortion, if that makes sense?).

Wright's big picture was a message that is necessary in America. I can understand why Obama stayed. He used some language I wish he wouldn't have used-but then again, so have I. The bigger picture needs to be heard for equality to happen.

Palin's pastor creeps me out. Bottom line-just say no! I know I would have left his flock. The between the witches and his voice, I couldn't do it. The problems are deeper than that, but man, he's a wack-a-doodle.
