Wales to the Canary Islands. My family? We're heading for Latin America somewhere.

2. Panama. We started looking for our escape after 2004.
We already have our permanent resident visas in Panama (retirement).

3. They won't win, so I'm not planning on having to leave the country.
It's bad enough that I might have to move to Atlanta.

7. Can't move; too close to retirement. Canada would be first choice, of course.

8. Vancouver, Maybe
I like Canada, although I don't know if I'd qualify for resident status. I know my Mom wouldn't, she'd try for Costa Rica.

10. I'd go for Vancouver as well.
I can't imagine it's all that different from Seattle; at least I wouldn't be that homesick.

17. surprisingly different
seattle is very very white, then has a lot of japanese influence.

vancouver is also known as "hong couver". very chinese. and then very east asian - india, pakistan.

it's nice though - i could live there in a red hot minute.

but i'll be staying here because
1. i'm lazy
2. vancouver is really expensive
3. obama's going to win.

21. I knew there was a large Asian population, but not to that degree.
Always good to learn something new.

But I doubt I'd ever need to go to even an excellent city like Vancouver, because Obama will win.

11. I plan to leave next year either way, heading to Mexico and Central America first.
However, if Obama doesn't win, I will tell people I am from Canada. I feel confident that I will not have to do that.

15. DH likes it here, so we won't be moving...
but our son is making plans to go to Ireland if McSame wins.

I am very hopeful that Obama will win, but after the last two presidential election nightmares, nothing would surprise me.

19. Depends on how much is left in my savings and investments -
Costa Rica was high on the list, then Mexico was looking pretty good but now it may be Guatamala. I'm open however- still think we should all invest in a collective farm somewhere - maybe in Latin America. I have no desire to be with a McLame Palin adminstration and after so many years of activism between politics and election fraud, I'm just not sure I have the energy or interest, frankly, do fight any more. If Obama loses- it won't be because he didn't win the most votes, we all know that. And if the country goes along with this bullshit again without a fight, I no longer want to live here - let them live with McCain, as they did with Bush for the past 8 years.

24. I've got two expatriate BIL's
One is promoting Ecuador, the other has settled on an island in Panama. The rain forest area of Ecuador sounds interesting, but I'm culturally attached to marine environments, so Panama will be my destination. Wife and I had planned to retire there, but if McCain wins I guess I'll just have to retire sooner.
