I think I'm going to have a lot of fun saying that after Obama wins, just to rub it in for all of the wingnuts who tried to play his name up as a negative, and especially the wingiest of wingnuts who were actually scared by the name themselves. :)

That despite 9/11 and their threats, that we Americans have the fortitude to look past race and names to elect someone named Barack Hussein Obama our president. That deed would fly in the face of all the teachings of the religious extremists, and show what a great people Americans are!

I have no problems with his middle name. But as a black person who is delighted to see Obama getting the degree of white support he appears to have (crossing my fingers for election day), I don't want to push it by flaunting the "Hussien" thing.

In fact, I am terrified that some state ballots may print his entire name instead of simply "Barack Obama".

I just don't want white voters who may be convinced at the last minute to go for Obama to have the "Hussien" hurdle to overcome as well.

I KNOW it shouldn't be an issue. But it is.
