30. I did the same
He let Schaffer rant on and on with no attempt to shut the bastard up. He couldn't moderate a kindergarden discussion. His voice is almost as irritating as Sarah Claribell Moose.

6. Brokaw is just another Jack Welch neo-conjob, boy-whore masquerading as a journalist.
Integrity is for paupers. Perhaps Brokejaw will see fit to join his good ol' buddy in the Great Beyond. The can trade stories about how they emasculated serious broadcast journalism.

Please, also note that we DO NOT WANT DAVID GREGORY either!

I wrote that neither Brokaw nor Gregory--- not even Olbermann or Maddow(even tho I think they would be great)---would be the right moderator, as they all clearly have bias. I asked for someone like a Cronkite-- someone who was basically fair---like Jim Lehrer was.

I can hardly bear to watch him anymore. For one, he looks drunk half the time, and for another his pro-McCain bias is glaring. He's got to go.

25. Very good.
I'm glad to see DUers doing this. As I explained in an OP a week or so ago, there has been very real pressure from NBC to change the tone at MSNBC. Brokaw was doing exactly what he was instructed to do, by the puppeteers who pull his strings. (And there have been some curious changes in tone on Hardball and Countdown; the funniest was when KO did the tongue-in-cheek inclusion of Obama in his "worst person in the world" bit.)

This petition, while it will not result in any change, is of real value in letting the puppeteers know what people are thinking. It is much appreciated. Thank you.

29. They Used To Fool Themselves Into Thinking We Weren't Paying Attention
I'm so glad Move-On is demanding an apology, cause they have some big muscles.

As for Brokaw, his strings are being pulled and when combined with his big fat ego of his, he thinks he's a kingmaker. He had a lot of nerve complaining about KO and Chris. The main reason he is getting away with this now is that the ratings for MTP haven't dropped since Russert left. They are mistakenly attributing it to Brokaw rather than the true reason which is a combo of the election and, the show is still floating on the reputation Russert built for the show.

Maybe he'll include it in one of his online polls. Gets a lot of traffic on some questions...this could be an attention getter.

33. Done! Sent to many friends.
After the extremely biased comment concluding the most recent episode of, 'Meet the Press,' I believe it is very clear that Mr. Brokaw proved his complete inability to fairly and objectively moderate a discussion between Democrats and Republicans. He took a very partisan stance after concluding a debate between two sides on his show on Sunday. I believe that putting a person in a position of moderating (selecting questions, both his own and those from online sources) the debates that has admitted to having taken a role as "ambassador" and has been "shuttling" between NBC and the McCain/Palin campaign would be a very clear sign that the organizers of this debate, the Commission of Presidential Debates, and NBC all very clearly lack the ability to present our nation with a fair and unbiased Presidential debate forum. It would be much more appropriate for a moderator to be put in place who does not have admitted ties or relationships directly with either the Republican or Democratic campaigns. Please consider another moderator, and consider that Mr. Brokaw is clearly biased toward the McCain/Palin campaign, many of their campaign views and talking points, and that he has proven as recently as Sunday that impartiality between the Republican and Democratic campaigns and candidates is not his strong suit. Thank you for your consideration, and I truly hope that for the benefit of a fair and unbiased debate format, that the selection of a new moderator will seriously be considered.

37. Which came first? - see: Uproar grows over Gwen Ifill, debate moderator and book author
I had been hearing bits about Ifill today and tonight I find all this Brokow talk.

Perhaps it's all true and both should be eliminated.

Still I find myself wondering which complaint came first...

As if enough delicious edginess already didn't surround Thursday's Sarah Palin/Joe Biden debate, conservative consternation is rising over concerns that moderator Gwen Ifill brings an inherent self-interest favoring the Democratic ticket to the table.
