This condescension towards Obama is going to backfire
Like always, McCain is overplaying his hand. If he had used the "doesn't understand" phrase two or three times, it might have worked. However, using like.....ten times like he has will have even your average yokel at home recognizing a ploy when they see one. It's coming off as ridiculously condescending and aloof.

12. that smile was hella creepy, wasn't it?
And about the "doesn't understand" thing--I think that line might have had a little impact if it had only been used once or twice. As overused as it was, it just seemed like he was trying to create a "There you go again" moment.

13. And not someone who's likely to help repair our relations around the globe.
Hell, he's not even willing to meet with Spain, a NATO ally.

11. The refusal to even look in Obama's direction is going to hurt him, as well.
It underscores Obama's points on McCain being unwilling to even meet with allies. If this is how he conducts himself with his Presidential adversary, another American, and he's not even willing to meet with the leader of Spain, our NATO ally, can we really trust McCain to respond rationally in a crisis -- or is he likely to overreact?

14. it backfired against Romney.
If I remember correctly, people were turned off by his hostility towards Romney in the earlier debates. Apparently he didn't learn his lesson, or doesn't think it matters, since he won the nom. Well, it's going to matter now.
