Pollster's data put into chart form... clearly shows the true picture of the race.
Txt

Obama has had the 269 needed to win (a tie is a win for us) since March. He only needs to maintain or widen his lead in states he is already carrying. He also is competitive in 7 other states totalling 95 EV.

McCain needs a miracle and he knows it - hence the increasingly erratic, desperate ploys being taken by his campaign.

1. You may have problems with the charts
I am seeing red x's for each picture.

5. A tie isn't necessarily a win
each state gets one vote in the house. I don't see exactly where all 26 votes come from.

6. It's actually not completely clear, I'll admit...
http://www.washtimes.com/news/2008/sep/23/an-electoral-college-doomsday/

But we do have a clear advantage in the case of a tie.

Nobody wants a tie, that's for sure - not dems OR republicans. So for GOD'S SAKE, New Hampshire... get it right!

:P

7. Dems have a majority in 27 states.
Ties in two, and pukes have 21. All of those are based on number of representatives from each party per state.

Dems would win.

8. Assuming they don't take the vote of their state into consideration
But I don't think it is going to be 269-269. I suspect Obama will hold the Kerry states, and add some combination of OH, IN, VA, NC, CO, NM and NV to get him above 270.

9. Agreed!
I think Obama will go into election night polling around 300 EVs, and come out with a solid win.

12. You're welcome.. of course we'll never know for sure till the actual voting. I think
If there's a state that the thugs would really like to steal this time around, it will be PA. Followed by MI, WI, CO and NM. It's scary that the race is still so close, but I believe we can win in great enough numbers to counteract their efforts to purge voters. I think we need international monitoring though. And by god, Obama better not just concede.
