Millions will tune in. He'll be able to explain his positions re foreign policy and maybe even have the opportunity to address the financial crisis. It's publicity you can't buy.

4. Friday. Tomorrow is Thursday!
I hope so!

I just called the debate commission and asked that they change the debates to the topic of economics, and told them that I was glad that the debates were not being cancelled, because it is important that I hear from the leaders of this country.....especially those who will be running things.

You can call too! :)

7. It'll be fascinating to see what McCain does...
...but if it becomes clear Obama's going ahead anyway McCain will HAVE to find some way to back out of his decision. He simply cannot afford to give Obama 90 minutes of monopolized national prime time coverage to educate people on his policies. If McCain is a no show I guarantee Obama pushes to go ahead regardless as a solo act because the time was already mutually agreed upon and the commitments made, and the election will be OVER.

And there's no way the McCain campaign wants to put Palin on a stage with Obama in a debate. She needs a format where she's reading from a script or she's hamburger. Plus it wouldn't be allowed anyway even if they were that suicidal, you do NOT send your VP candidate to a presidential debate because your presidential candidate doesn't want to do it.
