Please DON'T condemn or criticize Obama if he postpones the debate...
It's quite possible that Barack will agree with McCain to postpone the debate.

This might be the best thing to do, let's please not judge him or pretend to know better how to run a campaign.

Thanks in advance.

1. The worse thing he could do is appear to let McCain lead him
he needs to take charge himself.

If he plays along, McCain benefits.

3. What are either of them going to do about the economy on Friday night?
Go over Lehman Brothers' books? Count gold bars? Debates at the Presidential level aren't mere politics--they are ESSENTIAL.

11. I totally agree, I think that case can be made.
But if it turns out that the campaign strategizes some other response than we'd like to see, I support their wisdom.

Hoping the debate happens, not looking forward to lots of drama here if it doesn't.

Jesus H. Christ! Are we never supposed to question anything done by the campaign that has taken an election that should have been a landslide that ushered in a progressive era and turned it into a centrist wetdream?

Call InSane on his bullshit and move on with the campaign, debates and all.

This is NOT a crisis except in the wallets of Wall Street.

6. Well he did lead and Mcshit took credit
Obama called Mccain camp to suspend both camps in a joint press release, Mcsame said he would get back to them, then announced they would be suspending their campaign to grab the news cycle

7. I would ask for the debate to be about economic issues
Debate #1 is always the most watched one. I don't detect any groundswell from the people to have it postponed or cancelled.

16. be prepared
...if Obama doesnt agree, you're gonna hear how selfless McCain was to suspend his campaign and how selfish it was of Obama NOT to...and how that shows that the American public is not his first priority...

I'm just going by the negative course of this entire campaign... The old damned if you do and damned if you don't.

this debate was scheduled for months, I am guessing. I am sure it will be expensive to postpone with all the logistics, etc...the debate needs to go on as scheduled.

23. He won't do it
This plays right into Obama's hands - it make McNut look like he's overreacting as usual, and late to the party to boot.

McNut just doesn't want to debate Obama when the first questions are about this financial mess, which they will be regardless of the proposed theme of the debate. This is pure panic. Obama won't let him off the hook.

24. Just because McCain cannot walk and chew gun at the same time
is no reason to suspend anything.

In fact, if spun correctly, this makes McCain look WEAK as hell.

28. I won't. I think it may be the right move
Although it's a tough call, because he could make McCain look bad if he does not show up. But I do think Obama should suspend other campaign activities...no big rallies while McCain is busy showboating in Washington and looking like a leader.
