3. we have 40 mil dems registered
they have 30 mil rethugs registered...independents are running around 30% of the electorate...based upon that the polling SHOULD be easy...should be around 40% dem 30% rethug 30% indi

However per Rass the tabs are:

For polling data released during the week of September 14-20, 2008, the targets are 38.7% Democratic, 33.6% Republican, and 27.7% unaffiliated. For the previous week, the targets were 39.7% Democrat, 32.1% Republican, and 28.2% unaffiliated.

4. If He Used The Old Targets His Poll Would Be More In Line
He got burned in 00 when he didn't weight for party ID and predicted a 49-40% Bush* win!!!....

Now, he's overcompensating...

5. I'm not sure How they calculate their polling average but it's real flat.
Their polls seem to respond much slower than other tracking polls to changes in the race. It's almost like they have a week lag in their polls. They rarely show a big bounce in either direction. I'd guess that they'll start edging up for Obama next week. They showed a 6 point peak for Obama because the Democratic convention and a 3 point peak for McInsane because of the Repub convention.
