economy and blame
To the average voter (yes I know, imagine it) who gets the blame for the current drop in the economy? Is it the sitting president? Or is it the sitting Congress? Dems have held both houses since January 2007. So will the average voter blame all this on the Repubs or the Dems? Will they blame it on McCain but not blame Biden (who's been in the senate just as long).

I'm not asking for DU'ers thoughts on who is to blame. Just an analysis of how average voters process all this.

1. This has been a long time coming...
Two years isn't near enough time to do this much damage.

This is about deregulation, plain and simple. This started with Reaganomics, and ended with GWB telling us we needed to get government out of the way and let industry leaders do what they know how to do best. This sentiment is embraced by McCain/Palin.

The savings and loan crisis didn't teach them anything. And let's not forget who was in up to their eyeballs in the S&L fiasco... Mr. Keating Five, John McCain!

2. Agreed BUT
you're an educated person aware of history. I can't decide how the average joe out there will process this. Or whether it will make any difference at all.

4. I see your point
Obama needs to get the message out there... and we have to hope for the best. People are hurting. I think they will pay attention.

3. Voters are not stupid...and Dems win on domestic economy issues every time
Everyone knows that deregulation is at the root of this mess.
