Palin Jew baited in her first mayoral election against opponent John Stein (not Christian)
Edited on Sun Sep-14-08 05:06 PM by MidwestTransplant
Please forward to interested people.

Subject: FW: Palin's first race for mayor: Whispering
campaign her opponent was Jewish

John C. Stein was Sarah Palin's opponent for Governor. He is
not Jewish but of course has a Jewish name which could be a
liability in race of that nature.
Stein:

"Sarah comes in with all this ideological stuff, and I
was like, 'Whoa,'" said Stein, who lost the election.
"But that got her elected: abortion, gun rights, term
limits and the religious born-again thing. I'm not a
church-going guy and that was another issue: 'We will have our
first Christian mayor" (said Palin.)

"I thought: 'Holy cow, what's happening here? Does that
mean she thinks I'm Jewish or Islamic?" recalled Stein,
who was raised Lutheran.

The mayor of Wasilla before Sarah Palin, John C. Stein, was
also a Republican, though the office was and continues to be
non-partisan. Mayor Stein was defeated by Sarah Palin in a
campaign that brought in the NRA, Republican partisans, and a
whisper campaign that Mayor Stein was Jewish (he is a
Christian, but is "proud of such a reputation"). He
now runs the Sitka Sound Science Center, a marine research
facility in Sitka, Alaska.

1. The fundies I know are very anti-semitic. They are very
protective of the state of Israel in the abstract because of their 'prophecies', but they are not very fond of Jewish people. At all.

2. Isn't it so funny that the Lieberman wing is fooled by them.
It's like they read the first few pages of a book without reading the end.

First part of the book: We are for a strong Israel. We are against Muslim countries attacking Israel.

On the last page....All Jews must return to Israel and convert to Christianity or die and then Jesus returns.

8. From the end of WW1 to about the 70s (or a bit later)
anti-Semitism was hard-wired into the vast majority of the far-right. To them, "jew-commie" was a single word, and it became an all-purpose epithet. But when a portion of the "Jewish Left" veered to the right, "accommodations" were made. The once socialist-egalitarian state of Israel became a major player in behalf of US foreign policy.

To the "fundies", Jews then became fodder for "Jews For Christ". But deep in the hearts of many, the old feelings still lurk. View this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vb3IMTJjzfo

4. The Dems need a 527 to run this in Florida
...and a statement from Ed Koch wouldn't hurt.

10. I can smell this woman's anti-semitism a mile away
But she knows how to dog whistle, plausibly deny, spin, lie and otherwise cover tracks. Jews should not trust this woman as far as they can throw her. Which I hope is out of Florida.

11. One big thing the Palin selection did was solidify the Jewish vote for Obama--Koch endorsement
was a big indication of that.
