I am proud of the 95 million we raised. WOW!!!!

Another piece of evidence of poll skew.

report lies to the public and hope the public is not paying attention.

5. Pay as much validity to the polls as you do the right wing media
It's in their best interest to make everyone think it's closer than it really is. The only poll I trust is the EV on election night.

6. The polls only count likely voters.
Those are people who at least voted in the last presidential election.

The Democrats have registered 2 million new voters. The Republicans have lost 330 voters (they switched to either Dem or Indie).

Plus there's that whole thing about people who only have cell phones.

Don't believe the polls.

11. How do we even know they count anything? They may just be
making shit up. They say that more people self identify as Republicans after their convention. Come now, that was a miserable excuse for a convention that couldn't even fill the hall it was in. McCain's speech was overlong and boring (I am told) and their big moment was disaster porn. They couldn't even tell the difference between a hospital and a middle school. That made people identify with them? Yeah, sure, my ass it did.

so that people will just say, "I guess everyone is voting for McCain so I should too". Sheeple are so stupid.

at the crowds, the donations, the shitty candidates the Repukes are running. See this analogy I posted earlier:

10. Ignore the polls -- especially the national ones.
They mean very little other than noting trends. Obama is probably ahead by more than 10 points if the election were held today.

C'mon! This happens every single time we're down in a poll here on DU!

History repeats itself - this has happened every time Dems are down in the polls.

The polls may not be perfect, but an average of many polls over time says that Obama and we have a lot of work to do still

26. The polls were up for Obama before for the same reason that
you never see magicians performing in slow motion. Things that defy belief cannot withstand close or prolonged scrutiny. So they wait and then WHOA! PEOPLE ARE CHANGING THEIR MINDS! THE IDIOT CREATIONIST WOMAN AND HER FUCKED UP FAMILY HAVE CHANGED THE WHOLE THING! No, wait, it was the brilliant convention that could not even fill its whole dinky venue. NO, IT'S EXPERIENCE! No, it's change! No, it's lipstick. They really want you to believe this shit.

30. Why do they have to be in cahoots? With each person's
opinion representing hundreds, if not thousands, of voters, just getting a few people into each organization to fiddle with the answers is all it would take.

32. So the statistitions are criminals?
Could be - I think Obama's internal pollsters might be agreeing with the overall average of what's going on at this time. Looking for someone to blame for the poll numbers doesn't seem like the most productive use of our time IMO.

these people have some level of deniability "it was an innocent mistake." I think there are operatives amongst the poll takers, who get together the statistics the statisticians work with. There were some polling people charged with crimes recently, but that was for lying about doing the work at all, not changing answers they did get. Calling people to get their answers to poll questions is a low paying job. I suspect that an operative would know how to both influence the results and have it look like they were just prone to errors.

I wouldn't bother with the polls and focus on getting McCain and his Gidget out.

Just because someone is voting for McCain doesn't mean they are actually going to sacrifice anytime or money to help him get elected.

28. Methinks they're using Bush math to keep us thinking it's close.
It's not just the $66,000,000.00 he raised in August. It's the 500,000 new donors. The polls reek of fuzzy math. :holdsnose:
