Woot!!! Janean Garafaelo and Roseanne Barr are goddesses and
Bill Maher and Salman Rushdie are princes among men. I just caught Bill's show on HBO and they so eviscerated John Fund. It was a beautiful thing to see!!! I loved it when Bill took him apart, calling him a cynic because he knows better but continues to do everything he can to repeatedly put these morally bankrupt criminals running on the Republican ticket in to office. Janean was absolutely brilliant! The woman knows how to lay a smackdown! Roseanne was doin' some great truthtelling and pushed his BS right back at him. Rushdie mastered the understatement in eloquence and shut his nastiness down.

Score a really big one for our side!

1. I wish Janean would run for office in NY. She is incredibly well informed and one of the most
ardent Dems you'll ever find.

2. They were a lovely buffer to that assclown Fund.
I was hoping someone would turn the hose on him.

4. That was one of the best Maher shows I've ever seen.
I've always had a crush on J. Garafaelo and seeing her go up against that asshat Fund was just awesome. Roseanne rocked as well.

5. I was pissed at
roseanne when she lied about Obama during the primaries but the other week I saw her blog on Huffpost and she was pretty much eviserating angelina jolie and her dad jon voight for being for mccain in voight's case and not knowing who she was going to vote for in angelina's Case:silly:.

So now she's in my plus column.

6. This was one of the best shows of Real Time. It's a matter of being
Edited on Sat Sep-13-08 02:30 PM by OmmmSweetOmmm
educated with the Truth (as most DUers are) in order to combat the wrongwing talking head's talking points. The three of them plus Bill very properly marginalized Fund for the liar he is.

Last week I was very disappointed with Kerry Washington, as she didn't have facts at hand to properly smack down Michael Steele. Although she was firey..she wasn't up to the task as Janeane, Roseanne and Salman were with Fund. In fact, a few times, she backed down. I took a lot flack for being disappointed in Washington but I think that last nights panel shows how easily it is to neuter the wrongwing talk machine.

Didn't you love it when Janeane threw Fund's own recent article on Palin back at Fund as full of lies? It was a thing of beauty!!!!

On edit..just one thing..I wish Bill would cut down on the homophobia and sexist comments but that would probably be too much to ask.

8. I find Maher unwatchable most of the time.
I tuned in last night because of Garafalo. She did not disappoint. But Maher was his usual smug assclown self. Not only did he spew sexism and homophobia, but did you notice how he chastised Roseanne for calling for higher taxes on the rich? He used that bullshit canard about the rich paying the lion's share of taxes. He's more of a libertarian than a liberal.

10. But everyone, except Fund, got the Fannie Freddie thing all wrong...
They were created by an act of congress in 1938 as a way to back mortgages for homes by people who couldn't afford the 20% down in order to purchase a home.

Fannie and Freddie were always quasi public institutions and both Janean and Bill kept insisting they were private institutions. They were back by the taxpayers all along. THe problem is, JG got this one right, was the pull back on regulation, the worshiping at the altar of the free market.

I know it's quibbling and probably no one but me and John Fund caught that, but it just makes Fund all the more dismissive of the left when people attack without knowing the issue fully.

13. You can call it quibbling...
But it's still an important point.

And more people should know it.

16. Jeanne is a goddess.
Roseanne sounded only partial coherent and was babbling from one thing to the next. I couldn't hardly listen to her.

Jeanne is so well-informed, no matter what subject is brought up, she is well-versed on it. Salaman Rushdie was great too.

John Fund made a complete fool of himself. He was a joke. "Keep it up!!!" Thanks asshole, we will.
