"clearly part of Obama's lifelong attempt to present a nonthreatening persona"
I just read this drivel from Arianna Huffington about who Obama needs to be. I want to ask DU, does Obama need to be any of these things?

I don't think he does. I actually had a physical reaction to her HuffPost piece, but I want to hear how many people think similar things.

1. All these pundits need to get off his jock. The man is fully fiery and capable
so why do their egos have to rain all over his excellent and careful strategy.

The polls are fixed peops

4. Absolutely, with each person in the poll representing hundreds,
if not thousands of others, how hard is it to change a Republican right wing fundy who heard from their hairdresser that Obama was a Muslim to a "Hillary Democrat" on the paperwork?

2. Disappointing from Arianna. Maybe he IS nonthreatening and prefers
peace and the elevation of the dialogue instead of using McBush's tactics. Maybe he's learned that through experience, too. Should he start lying? Would that make her happier? :eyes:

7. The originator must have kept a large collection of Obama pics
This one matches this occasion perfectly.

6. If Obama does as Arianna wants him to do, then he will
be called the angry black man.

"Being likeable is obviously a good thing in politics. So is being analytical and thoughtful and composed. But the last seven-plus years demand more than a detached analysis -- and certainly more than a beaming smile.

They demand indignation. Outrage. Fury."

I agree with the statement above, but I'm afraid if he does as she says then he will be discriminated against for doing what a white man/woman would do.

9. Obama knows what he is doing. He's gotten this far. Ariana needs to focus
on helping to get him elected not on making a buck off of him with her entertainment style writing.

10. Obama has made it this far, and he's sharpening his responses. I STILL
have faith in him.
