Why isn't Obama running ad's like these?
Obama is going to win.

We just have to work hard, and he has to avoid a major gaffe between now and then.

However, Obama's advertisements are weak. He's not getting hard hitting enough.

The McCain campaign is throwing the kitchen sink. I'm not saying he should throw it back, but he sure as hell should throw something meaningful back.

The ad about McCain not knowing how to use computers? Weak.

Last weak they released a rebuttal of the Original Mavericks commercial, and it was beautiful. Obama mocked McCain/Palin for claiming to be mavericks while McCain votes with Bush 90% of the time and Palin was before the Bridge to Nowhere before she was against it. It was an incredible ad, and very hard hitting.

And now this?

Why can't Obama run advertisements like Planned Parenthood?

McCain claims Obama supports sex ed for kids, and Obama's camp doesn't fight back on the air waves, and in key states this could hurt. But Planned Parenthood releases an advertisement talking about how Obama supported a bill for protecting children from sexual predators, and says McCain is simply lying. And at the end it asks "Doesn't McCain support protecting kids from sexual predators? Or will he say ANYTHING to get elected?"

And what about the Defenders of Wildlife commercial?

Pictures of the gruesome murder of wolves, supported by Palin. Why isn't hard hitting stuff like this in the advertisements?

Why haven't they done one on the investigation in Alaska of Palin, and the fact her husband may get a subpoena?

Why aren't they hitting McCain harder on taxes? Wouldn't it be beautiful if Obama came out with an advertisement of his own with Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, and claimed McCain wanted to give them a HUGE tax cut while Americans struggled? With gas prices at record high, shouldn't they hit away at the fact that ExxonMobil is raking in record profits and giving McCain big contributions while McCain promises them $300 billion in tax loopholes and giveaways?

1. Patience, grasshopper. It's too early. Better to spend more toward the end.
Let McCain bury himself with his petty ads.

We shouldn't get involve in ad wars, or we'll turn too many people off.

We've got a war chest and the campaign has a plan on how best to spend it, I doubt that you, I, or anyone here has a better plan than they do.

I know it's frustrating, but I'm not worried.

The election is more than 50 days away. Look for a build up over the coming weeks, including knockout blows.

:hi:

2. I'm not worried, I think he'll win. I just hope he get's more hard hitting.
I sent my celebrity advertisement idea to the Obama campaign on their website. I think it'd be hilarious to re-do McCain's advertisement and attack him saying he wants to give Paris Hilton and Britney Spears big tax cuts while middle class struggles.

Imagine this:

(Pictures of Paris Hilton and Britney Spears with the flashes of the paparazzi cameras)

"They're the biggest celebrities in the world, and yet John McCain wants to give them huge tax cuts. McCain promises more tax cuts for the rich, while the middle class gets nothing--no new relief"

4. I like it! These breaks for the wealthy are where we'll win...
This is class warfare in the end, and when we make the simple case to folks that they will pay higher taxes and lose social security under McCain (unless they make more than $250,000/yr), they'll sit up and take note.

Obama made this case today in New Hampshire.

Knock out ads are coming.

11. This is one elections were we can get people on our side on taxes.
I wish they'd hit home on taxes, and the fact that McCain isn't offering anything new for the middle class but wants to give more big tax breaks for corporations and the wealthiest Americans.

12. If we hit them hard enough, but hit them too late for them to respond!
I think we'll see a racheting up of great solid fair honest attack ads on policy.

If we do these too soon, they will find ways to difuse them.

If we fire our greatest shots just days before the election, shockers filled with truth, backed by solid data and spokespeople, they won't have time to respond.

Timing is so important, and Obama uses it differently than we're used to seeing it used.

That's my observation and hope, anyway.

3. They could win back a lot of the women's

votes that were lost over Clinton if they would put the fact that McCain cheated on and left his first wife, who stood by him while he was a POW and was left handicapped from injuries she suffered in a car accident, out more. I know it sounds petty since it happened so long ago, but all is fair in love, war, and politics as they say. And his wife Cindy was the one he had the affair with and she admits to stealing drugs from her own charitable drug organization to feed her addiction. Neither of them seem to have much integrity going for them.

5. because that's OUR job
we need to put up the ads that ring true & that matter to us. Find out about local billboard prices, local newspaper ad prices, freeway signs-find others & do it.
