"Didn't leave Vietnam on Crutches
“As far as we know, these are the only images that exist from when McCain was released in Hanoi,” said Eriksson.

“In American descriptions of the event, it is often said that he returned to the US on crutches. But he certainly didn’t leave North Vietnam on crutches.”

1. Is there *anything* that PALIN/McCAIN say that is, like, umm - true?

2. IMO - I don't think we should go there - the video does show a frail McCain walking with a limp...

6. Every time I look at pictures of McCain's return from the Hanoi Hilton, I scratch my head.
He could raise his arms to salute and he looked well fed. Some things just don't make sense with his story and I wish his campaign would stop using his past hardships as talking points. I think McCain's arms had more mobility when he was younger but became more arthritic with time. That's completely different from their assertion that he lost the ability to raise his arms above his head following prison torture. I just don't get the need to brag about injuries sustained in Vietnam and then go on to seal your Naval files; something in the milk definitely isn't clean.

8. Why is it being released now?
I found it interesting that the footage has been in a Swedish news vault for these many years and is being released now, and the press is using these quotes. Ya'll are picking up on a different slant.

Do you think they are more
a) out to sell a book
or
b) trying to influence US elections
and, if b) which way are they tossing their influence, the Swedes?

I vote a) but I find b) more interesting.
