Have any substancial Republicans come out for Kerry?

While the Republicans have claimed Zell Miller, and Edward Koch, surely there are some Repubs who have come out in support of Kerry or at least against Bush.

We've been getting a lot of this DNC commercial in Wisconsin. He had been head of the Air Force and supported Bush in 2000. He now supports Kerry because security of the US is important to him and because Kerry has a real strategy to protect us.

"My decision to leave the Republican Party was deeply personal and one of the most difficult decisions I have ever made," former Republican Sen. Jim Jeffords told Salon. The Vermont independent famously quit the party in 2001, incurring the White House's wrath and briefly handing control of the Senate to the Democrats.

"I left the Republican Party because I feared the Bush administration and the GOP-controlled Congress was moving too far to the right, and not listening to moderate Republicans such as myself," he says.
