2. Woodward claims the WH has been spying on al-Maliki.
And the WH has had no response to Woodward on the subject.

4. Apparently this new book is
actually critical of Bush, rather than the devoted totally non-critical assessments in the past. It's called The War Within: A Secret White House History 2006-2008 and the official release date is tomorrow, Sept 8.

5. The quote I heard
was basically, Bush told Woodward he really didn't know much about the surge, because he didn't get involved. He had more important things to attend to. Sounds about right, but I don't think that's what would impact the election, since we already know the bastard is not engaged, but he's soon outta there.

7. I think what I heard was that the part about the surge...
...backs up Obama's assessment of it.

9. What more important things?
Just what does he do all day? What is more important than monitoring a war he started? Oh yeah. The economy is tanking so he must be focusing on that. Hmmmm. No, don't see that either. So, I ask again, what does he do all day? Or do I want to know?

10. Bob Woodward interview on 60 Minutes Sunday, Sept. 7, at 7 p.m.
Bob Woodward reveals the use of a top-secret military capability in Iraq that locates enemies and targets them for killing in his first interview about his latest book on the Bush White House.

"This is very sensitive and very top secret, but there are secret operational capabilities that have been developed by the military to locate, target, and kill leaders-of Al Qaeda in Iraq, insurgent leaders, renegade militia leaders that is one of the true breakthroughs," Woodward tells correspondent Scott Pelley. "If you were an Al-Qaeda leader or part of the insurgency in Iraq, or one of these renegade militias, and you knew about what they were able to do, you’d get your ass out of town."

The Washington Post editor also tells Pelley that the U.S. has been keeping close tabs on Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. "There is significant surveillance of Maliki and as one source told me, 'We know everything he says.' And others I've talked to about that say, 'You can't literally know everything.' But we know a great deal… Some people think that he should know, and that he might know. Others think he's going to be shocked."

Woodward's new book, "The War Within," is available Sept. 8 and is published by Simon & Schuster, which like CBS News and CBSNews.com, is part of CBS Corp.
The interview will be broadcast on 60 Minutes Sunday, Sept. 7, at 7 p.m. ET/PT.
