Under Bush we have lost 3.7 MILLION manufacturing jobs:
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics: Bush came into office with 17.1 million manufacturing jobs in January of 2001. Now, the number stands at 13.4 million. John McCain says that tax cuts for the wealthy create jobs and tax increases on the wealthy destroy them. I would ask him, how is it that Bill Clinton created 400,000 manufacturing jobs during his presidency while Bush has seen them melt away at record rates?

This has to be our line of attack. Destroy their credibility on the economy. 600,000 more people became unemployed last month and 84,000 jobs were lost. Positions are being destroyed and new labor force entrants are not able to find work. Unemployment is set to take out the previous high point for Bush of 6.5% in no time. This is the issue. This is the line of attack.

3. Not really much to say beyond "yep, figures"
But in all seriousness, this is appalling. This issue alone should be enough to send the Republican's packing since it is their policies that have overwhelmingly contributed to the erosion of manufacturing jobs in this country.

5. It is just sad... we are becoming a "service" society
Lower paying jobs, serving the needs of the rich... from the household servants to the consultants who tell people how to run their lives or business, it is a service to the EXTREMELY RICH!

How may I serve you?

We don't make anything here anymore, so how the hell can we get our exports up?
