Though... given what we learned about Palin's college years today, maybe we now know why he sees her as a soulmate.

2. He was a playboy who graduated 894th of 899 in his class, he likely got into Annapolis only

because both his dad and his granddad had been 4-star admirals. He crashed the first of FIVE aircraft entrusted to him during his career in training.

Then he was given a coveted aircraft carrier assignment nonetheless. His Naval career was short and disastrous, ending at the Hanoi Hilton after a total of 20 hours of combat. Then when he came home, he was awarded 28 medals, but not the promotions other ex-POWs received routinely.
