THE RNC IS BACKFIRING: Turning Off Swing Voters (Dems Attracted them)
http://www.gallup.com/poll/110017/Intense-Political-Week-Brings-Decline-Swing-Voters.aspx

Read it and WEEP FREEPS!

Dems pulled TWICE as many Swing Voters than Repukes. In fact, you can't be certain the repukes pulled any due to statistical noise.

One reason swing voters have yet to commit to a candidate is that they still appear to harbor some doubts about how the candidates would perform on issues that are not obvious areas of strength. For example, only 19% of swing voters say McCain would do a better job than Obama on the economy, much lower than the 42% of committed voters who view McCain as better on economic matters. But that does not mean Obama has convinced swing voters he is the superior candidate on the economy, because roughly as many swing voters (56%) as committed voters (54%) view Obama as better on this issue.

3. And they STILL haven't addressed the economy in the RNC
Yesterday's theme was 'Prosperity', so I guess yesterday was the heavy-hitting economy day, too

5. Shhhhh! Don't tell them about the economy. They think it's GREAT!
All of the "whiners" will flock to the Dems,
because we don't appear to be deaf, dumb and
blind.

Let them continue to ignore rampant foreclosures,
bankruptcies, job losses and despair!

7. "Committed voters"?
When they say that, are they referring to "committed" voters for each candidate or all voters who have definitively chosen a candidate? Because I'd say that's damn good news for us if it's the latter. If it's the former, I'd have to wonder why only a little more than half of Obama's supporters think he'd do a better job with the economy.

8. Ya think maybe Americans don't like politicians wallowing in the mud and screaming hatred?
Alls I saw last night was a lot of windbags hitting repeatedly below the belt, playing as dirty as they could, and stirring up fear and hatred.

It'll play to the base, no quesiton, and their smugness will be difficult to bare, but I think the vast majority of Americans will be turned off.

10. Maybe Palin will spew out more hateful and lie infested speeches
and drive the rest of the independents back home to the democratic party.

I wonder if Palin has been praying to her war and oil god lately in the Church of Exxon, Disciple's of Bush?

13. Gotta love the BULLSHIT out of Gallup
they purposely obfuscated the results to make it appear ambiguous.

Look at the facts on the economy

Obama leads among committed voters 54-42%.
Obama leads among swing voters 56-19%.

How the fuck could anyone interpret this as close?

15. McCain's Trophy Veep is gonna backfire
Edited on Thu Sep-04-08 05:39 PM by TexasObserver
Someone I know was arguing that the Palin pick would really help McCain, to which I replied "name one person you know who wasn't going to vote for McCain before he picked Palin, but is doing so now."

She will reinforce the GOP base, but not create new voters. As middle voters find out about her scandals and problems, they'll be reviled by her. And if the GOP keeps hiding her, that will turn voters off big time.
