The Crazies have taken over the Republican Party.

No wonder Susan Eisenhower left the Republican Party. I hope she comes out and talks about why she left the asylum.

I didn't think anyone could be as bad as Bush/Cheney. Was I ever wrong.

McCain/Palin - bring on the apocalypse.

18. Another post here on DU referenced a newspaper article
where Nancy said that she thought Obama was well qualified to be President and she liked how he gave speeches. At least I think the story came from some paper.

Sorry I didn't bookmark it.

9. Very true
The rethugs have been taken over by the brownshirt/true believers. These Fascist Pharisees call down God's wrath on the heads of their political opponents and even condemn to hellfire those who voted for John Kerry!

Any thinking person with a conscience would have left this luddite party with its Aryan leanings a long time ago.

All thats left are the true extremists and its Obama's and our job to expose these worms to the American people so we can save this country in the GE.

4. I can't figure out why they're so angry. If the country isn't the way they
want it, why don't they blame themselves? They had eight fucking years, and they seem frustrated that they were held back from...what? Imposing true theocratic rule? Taking away a woman's right to choose even if her own life depended on it? Eliminating "wasteful" social programs like Social Security and Medicare and Headstart? Allowing every type of weapon known to man to be carried and concealed? Jailing those who oppose them? Creating the Aryan utopia they still crave? It was scary to see the braying and jeering of the crowd, and the bizarre mockery--eight years of rule, still not enough bloodshed and war and hatred and division and corruption and waste and greed and oppression.

10. Anger is what they're all about
As another posted noted, they are MEAN people. They have to have a scapegoat for everything.

My feeling is that a lot of these people have deep feelings of inadequacy and insecurity. They deal with them by finding others to pick on, just the way school bullies pick on kids they think are weaker.

Even when they controlled both houses of Congress and the White House from 2001 to 2007, they blamed everything that went wrong on the Clintons, the liberals, Democrats, etc. You'd think they would have been riding on top of the world. But no, they still needed people to dump on, in order to prove to themselves how powerful they were.

Even if every person in America somehow miraculously bought into their insane program, they would still be angry and looking for scapegoats. It would be the French, the terra-rists, the Chinese, the Russians, the Iranians, whichever group fit their agenda.

Even if every single person on the planet bought into their agenda, they'd be angry and looking to arrest and punish individuals who weren't quite orthodox in their beliefs. Just like Stalin and his purges.

This kind of anger is never satisfied.

12. True--they have a pathological need for enemies, for an us-vs-them scenario.
They are paranoid enough to invent threats to their "way of life" where none exist.

stop after their departure. Now I know the republican party itself has a cancer.
