I thought they were going to rip Obama 24/7?
That's what the pundits warned during the Democratic convention, particularly the opening night, that our themes were too soft and this GOP convention would be 4 days of relentlessly defining Obama.

I don't think they've landed a glove on Obama so far. Romney was caught in some bizarre liberal/conservative time warp and now Huckabee is nothing but cutesy crap.

1. They're doing it mostly through stealth...back door shit.
Like that comment about "I've been proud to be an American every day of my life" which was a jab at Michelle Obama and the widely-misquoted remark she made about being REALLY proud of her country for the first time in her ADULT life.
He made a jab about inflating tires and they've been hammering the "drill drill drill" thing to death. In fact, some former Lt. Gov. came out and had the crown on its feet when he hollered, "Drill, baby, drill! Drill here, drill now!" and the sheeple all went nuts.
They've been hitting him pretty hard actually, but they think they're being clever about it and nobody will notice.

2. I thought about that during Romney's speech
No chance it will work. Obama's name has barely been used.

A convention like this needs to win the apolitical types through simple, easy to remember themes. I guarantee many of viewers didn't even recognize the reference to Michelle.

So far I think we've dodged some major speeches but I expect Giuliani will be blunt and specific.

3. Art of War...
Just a few snips from 'The Art of War', by Sun Tsu -

...All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive...

...Thus, one who is skillful at keeping the enemy on the move maintains deceitful appearances...He sacrifices something, that the enemy may snatch at it.

...Peace proposals unaccompanied by a sworn covenant indicate a plot.

5. Yeah, but their generals aren't subtle, with Willie Horton, 9/11 and wolves
I think they are off their game, a lousy field of candidates following through with weak speeches. So far I like it.

One thing it does: Very low bar for Sarah Palin to clear, to be superior to anything we've seen so far.

6. That's a good thing -
I say give Biden an assault team and let's end this quickly!
